| lauraandderek's Full Review: St. John |
We went to St John in March on 1999 for 2 weeks. The best two weeks ever! We camped at Cinnamon Bay for $18 a night--the best deal! We were about 15 yards from the cleanest beach with the warmest, cleanest, and bluest water you will ever see. Fabulous restaurants from very expensive (Asolare, but well worth it...make reservations on the deck early) to less expensive (Missy Lucy's and Skinny Legs in Coral Bay...less crowded and a whole different side to this small island). The people are kind and although there is poverty, it doesn't take away from the beauty. We spent the last 4 day of our vacation in St Thomas and wished we didn't waste our time. Magen's Bay which is supposed to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world was crowded and dirty!! Go to St Thomas for 1/2 day shopping and then go back to paradise in St John.
St John is great for all ages as long as relaxing is on your agenda. Bring some good comfortable shoes for walking around to see the fabulous views. Lots of sunscreen and leave your watch at home. You are on island time now.
