Route: - An inquiry from a member: Is it possible to fly over the Nazca lines directly from Lima and fly back without stopping? (This to save time).
I have called around and asked about flights to Nazca from Lima and it seems like it has to be done in two planes--one plane to fly to Nazca and back, and another to do a flyover of the lines. The agency explained that the plane used to fly to Nazca is too big of a plane to do a flyover of the lines. They use smaller planes for that purpose. You can get a private plane to Nazca and back, and then take another plane to see the lines, if you wanted to save a lot of time. The standard canned tour, though, only takes a day. Depending on how pressed you are for time, buses usually leave at night, and flights to the Peruvian cities leave first thing in the morning.

Cost: $260 per person, minimum of three persons (or two people willing to pay the cost of 3 people) This includes transportation to Nazca, change of planes, a fly-over of the lines, lunch, a city tour of Ica, and the return flight. They usually leave around 9am and come back around 4pm.
**If you want to only go straight there, change planes, fly over the lines, and then return they will do that but at the same cost of $260 per person. Their time estimates are as follows, but will change according to your itinerary.

A private flight would save a couple of hours, but unless those couple of hours are really important, the tour from Lima looks like it could save some money. These were all phone quotes--make sure to call the company directly to confirm prices and for more info.
