Phipps Plaza, Atlanta's upscale mall anchored by Saks, Lord and Taylor and Parisian, has a variety of gift and specialty boutiques to delight just about any shopoholic. One of Atlanta's less crowded malls, the location, a good movie theater and relatively small crowds keep me returning to Phipps Plaza.
If that isn't enough then there is an hourly shuttle service to Lenox Square, Atlanta's other premier shopping mecca just across Peachtree. Lenox is anchored by Rich's, Macy's and Neiman Marcus. In addition to the usual mall stores, Lenox boasts a Crate and Barrel, Atlanta's only Pottery Barn and my new favorite fragrance/makeup store -- Sephora). Both malls are managed by Simon and participate in Simon's frequent shopper rewards program.
I have to admit it. I rarely shop at Phipps Plaza. Although I visit Phipps (as it is known to the locals) regularly, I rarely make it past the food court and AMC movie theater. On the other hand, I rarely visit Lenox even to shop (and hate the movie theater) although I will meet relatives and friends who are visiting Atlanta for a day of shopping in the big city.
Both Phipps and Lenox have lots of parking (though I prefer Phipp's deck located under the mall because there are only a few steps to an escalator that whisks me to the second mall level and the movie theater's box office).
