I live in Texas, but am only a 30 minute drive from the area of Shreveport/Bossier. If you enjoy gaming it is a great place to be. They have many great Casinos on Water(or boats as we call them). You see the casino must be on water in order to operate here, so thus the name the boats. We have visited almost all of the casinos in Shreveport/Bossier, but by far we enjoy our visits to The Isle of Capri Casino and Hotel.
The Hotel
The Isle of Capri Hotel was just recently built and is a beautiful place. It has 310 rooms featuring beautiful, luxurious rooms, private whirlpool baths, 3 TV's in each room and a great setting for a peaceful weekend of relaxation. You are also offered a free complimentary breakfast with each room. The Isle of Capri Hotel offers in house child care by a fully-licensed staff at Eno's playhouse and for the teenagers a Fantasy Island Arcade. If you plan on visiting you must call ahead for reservations and prices, as this hotel tends to fill up quickly on the weekends.
The Casino
Now the Isle of Capri Casino is a fun place to be. They offer all of your favorite table games such as blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker, roulette, and craps. The 2nd and 3rd floor of the boat is full of all of the newest slot machines. From quarter slots all the way up to five-dollar slots you will be able to find the right one for you. Island Gold Members(will explain this later) are also offered a free pull each day to win $100,000. My husband and I have always made sure to get our free pull each day, but neither of us has ever won anything. But who knows maybe next time we will be lucky. This casino features about 30,000 square feet of gaming excitement and is definitely the place to go for fun!
The Food
Farraday's offers steak, lobster and many other of your favorite foods. We have never eaten here as the prices are a little much for us. My sister and her boyfriend have and told us the food and service were well worth the price of the meal.
Calyposos Seafood Buffet is our favorite place to enjoy a great meal. It offers a all you can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. The dinner buffet is wonderful, here you can eat all the boiled shrimp, crab legs and crawfish you heart desires. They also have other meats on the buffet from chicken to pork chops. A wonderful salad and dessert bar are also available with your meal. For around $10.95 you can believe you will never leave here hungry. After playing with your Island Gold Club card you can also turn in your points for a free meal.
Tradewinds Marketplace here you will find many of the eat fast and go type meals. Giselle's Bakery offers fresh cinnamon rolls and cappucino for your enjoyment. Ed's Grillis the place for a quick burger and fries. Tin's Wok is for authentic rice and noodle dishes. Grab and Go is the place to pick up a quick sandwich or salad as you are moving from one slot machine or game table to another. All of these make up the Tradewind's Marketplace.
Shows - I was surprised to find that this casino offers many great shows and entertainers for your listening pleasure. Many nights they have different oldies rock-n-roll revues with some great local talent. They also have some great entertainers that headline here, in the month of November you can see Crystal Gayle, Lorrie Morgan, Roy Clark and Jerry Reed. Prices for these shows are $10.00 usually, which I think is a very fair price.
Incentive Programs
Wednesday is Ladies Day. You get double Island Gold Points, a chance at $1,500 they host drawings at 10 a.m., 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. for $500.00 dollars. Ladies also receive a bonus free pull.
Paradise 50 Plus Club is there Seniors Day Program. These are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Seniors receive a complimentary breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Calypso's Buffet after earning 30 Island Gold Points. They also receive double Island Gold Points for that day's play. A free ice cream cone to eat while you relax before returning to the casino.
Island Gold Clubis one of those programs that is well worth your time to sign up for. It is free to join but you must present a drivers license at the Island Gold Sign up Counter. There they will issue you a card to be used at the gaming tables or to put in the slot machine each times you play. This way you can earn points towards their rewards. These rewards include Cash Back for every 100 points you will get $5.00, you can also qualify depending on your play for free bonus cash in the mail. I have also received coupons for free or discounted rooms at the hotel and of course my free buffet. Don't forget you also get that free pull for $100,000 once a day. Just today in my mailbox I received a mailing from Isle Of Capri that gave me 2 coupons for $5.00 each of free cash, a free hotel night and 1 free bonus pull each day I visit the casino. This program is well worth your time to sign up and start enjoying the rewards.
Service
My husband and I have always found friendly and helpful staff at this casino. From the waitress to the security guard they have always had a smile on their face and a hello for us in passing. We haven't stayed at the hotel yet so I can't tell you how the service is there. If it is anything like the Casino you are in for a treat.
Conclusion
Each time we go to Isle of Capri Casino we have a great time. The parking is free and they also offer free valet parking if you would rather not fight the traffic in the garage. The garage is well lighted with great security. All in all Isle of Capri Casino in Shreveport/Bossier City, LA is a fun place for gaming, eating or just go for a relaxing day or weekend away.
