Last Wednesday I went to the Iron Cactus Stonelake for the first time. I was asked if I liked karaoke and wanted to sit in the bar area. I said sure and am so glad that I did. Our server arrived just as we had sat down and we ordered Mexican martinis. The server came right back with our drinks and we ordered the table side guacamole. It had fresh avocados, orange, tomatoes, jalapenos and onions. Extremely delicious. There were also two types of salsa. I preferred the roasted salsa. Most karaoke nights are spent listening to screaming cats, but not this night. There was some serious talent. There was dancing and a fun crowd. I even got up and sang (not one of the talented ones). Then we ordered the shrimp enchiladas and they were so good. We were not able to save room for desert, the entree had enough food to share and be full.This is my favorite Mexican food restaurant in North Austin. They are also offering a trivia night on Tuesdays and are starting a ladies night on Thursdays. They have live music every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Everything about this night was entertaining for the mouth and the mind.
