| navinthebean's Full Review: Lincoln Park Zoo |
When I visited Chicago, me and my family decided to go to the Zoo. I liked the Lincoln Park Zoo the moment I saw it...it had this distinctly friendly, happy air to it. To top it off, there was no admission fee :) We also found a parking space easily (for $7). Lincoln Park Zoo is located at 2200 North Cannon Drive, at Lake Shore Drive and Fullerton Parkway and is open everyday. I liked it so much I wanted to sign up as a volunteer! Just so that you know where to go to see your favorite animals, don't forget to pick up a map of the zoo.
Some parts of the zoo may be a little smelly but that's forgivable because after all it IS a zoo! Believe me, I've smelt worse. Anyway, there are little icecream stalls along the paths so you can stop by and have some yummy icecream. You can also find a restaurant and shops to get gifts and other sweet stuff :)
My favorite exhibit was the elephants. They fascinated me and I could go on watching them forever (but my family pulled me away because they wanted to go and see the bears). I showed up at the time when the elephants were being fed- I think that's the best time to watch them. It's funny the way the elephants grab at the apples and other foodstuff that are in the zookeeper's hands with their trunks.
Lincoln Park Zoo is very pretty (lots of greenery) and has benches to sit on incase you're tired. If you want a souvenir to remember this wonderful place, head over to the photo booth and take a picture!
You can see a variety of animals at this Zoo ranging from lions, ducks, bears, reptiles, antelopes, apes....the list goes on and on.
I love this zoo.
