Pros: You can get a good workout.
Cons: Many, sleezy sales staff, dirty, broken equipment, etc.
The Bottom Line: I think their Sales Tactics are dishonest, Gym is not sanitized, over sell memberships, they only care about your money, not you.

I want to say that the first issue with 24 Hour Fitness is their sales department. There are sales and promotions all the time but even being a member, the Sales Associates won't give you a price up front. For example, 3 years ago I signed up for a lifetime membership including 5 training sessions for $851 plus a $49 dollar a year renewal after 3 years. Now that the 3 years are up and I'm 3 days behind on my dues (because they never sent a renewal notice), some hard-to-understand Gals keep calling me asking for my credit card number to pay my dues. I tell them I will pay at the Club, thank you. A few hours later, they call again. Same story - I'll pay at the Gym next time I'm in. I think they just want the money and bad!
Recently, they had another promotion on a 3-year plan with 2 years free and then a lifetime renewal of $29 a year. So I inquired thinking a friend might want to sign up cheap and bear the issues? So my 3-years were $851 but they are offering 2 years free - so what price was I quoted? $949.00! Nothing free about that but more like false advertising. I thought it would be around $300 since 2 years are free. Wrong! The Sales Staff are as scummy as those at an Automobile Dealership.
Other issues are several machines are always broken and the mean-time-to-repair is 4-5 weeks, even for something simple like a broken cable. They also don't sterilize the equipment after someone uses it. I've had more colds and flu issues over the past 3 year since joining this Gym then in my entire life.
Although Bally Fitness has their own issues, the machines were well maintained and there was a Gal running around the Gym full-time sterilizing the equipment while I was on a trail membership. Bally's was clean as a pin.
24 Hour Fitness is more like a science project. I had no idea they didn't clean the machines with the regularity of Bally's when I signed up for a lifetime membership? The Club I belong to is in Beaverton Oregon #566. If I had it to do over, I'd sign up with Bally Fitness.
The hot water in the Bathroom/Shower area is scalding hot. No safety on the faucets and not constant pressure valves so when someone flushes a toilet and you are in the shower, you get scalded.
Oh, and try to use the Gym after the Holidays! They sell tons of memberships to the New Years Resolution Folks and the Gym is packed for about 3-4 months until they newbies all quit. Oversell and of course a lifetime membership. People burn out and 24 Hour Fitness makes a bunch of profit.
My recommendation is find another Club that doesn't have 24-Hour in its name.
