First, I must say that I joined this chain simply because I was looking for a heated pool near work where I could try to build up my leg muscles and decrease the pain in my knee. Because of my arthritis, a pool is the perfect place to exercise--water supports your weight, so there is no stress on your joints.
I joined a club near my work and paid extra so I could use other facilities. They call it a Sports club, with a wider range of activities, and therefore, a higher cost.
Well, I used the pool four times and was delighted. Clean pool, clean spa, not too many people, immaculate dressing room, a variety of machines. I decided one day to see if a recumbent bike would help my knee without causing pain. It was apparent I was new at this, I couldn't tell how to take my heart rate using the sensors. No one on the staff offered help. In fact, no one has ever offered to help me with any of the machines.
The next time I went, there was a large sign that said the pool would be closed three afternoons a week for swimming lessons. Huh? I joined specifically for the pool. I want to do the water aerobics. They never mentioned anything about closing the pool. It is such a huge pool and only goes to 4 1/2 feet, one would think they could block off a section or a lane.
I feel taken advantage of. I have not been back since. I am deciding if I need to find another gym, or what I should do. Several members complained to the manager, but nothing was done. Don't advertise the pool if it is not available 24 hours a day just as the name says. Sorry, l;et the kids go elsewhere.
