Pros: 1st class equipment, lots of cool workout classes at great times
Cons: The price/contract
The Bottom Line: A great place for starters. Lots of equipment, great classes, daycare, and state of the art machines. the only low...the price, but you get over it, quick!

I went to workout with my friend on a free pass and my first impression of Bally's Total Fitness was the staff was way to pushy. But I now see that they had to be in order to get your membership. They gave me a tour of the place, and showed me how to use some of the weights and machines. After I worked out I realized that I wanted to join. So then came the natotiating of prices and plans... I ended up bringing them down by $15. At first I felt like I was buying a car the way we were throwing numbers out on the table. But I have been a member for about 5 months now and I love it. I take a step class every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and I take a hi/low impact aerobics class Tuesdays, and Thursday. I have been able to try Spinning, and Resistaball for free...those are classes that you pay up front to get a pass for 10 or 15 classes. They weren't for me, but glad I was able to try them out first to see how I liked it before giving more of my money to them. They also have on site day care that I think is a God send. My son loved to go there and play they watch movies, play in a jungle gym, he says he feels like he is at Chuckie Cheeses! I pay $15 for a 10day pass for him to go. With being in the military its inevitable that we are going to move a lot so it helps that they have over 360 locations, and growing. Also with having a contract that is for three years, I know that I will keep going day after day... I figure that I'm paying for it so I better go, right!
All in all I think that I made a great decision in becoming a member of Bally's Total Fitness I love the atmosphere, classes, and availability of a large gym.
