Pros: Good looks, lots of chrome, reliable, powerful, fun to ride. Cons: Suspension is a bit soft, stock muffler sound is not very pleasing.
I bought this bike used but totally stock when I traded in a Honda Valkyrie 1500. Why, you ask, would someone trade a Valkyrie for a slightly smaller truder 1400. Well, several reasons but near the top would be the fact that the Intruder 1400 is ...

Pros: Reliable, good looking, easy handling in a variety of conditions Cons: Could use more attention to the fit and finish.

Great bike for the price
by liltom32 ,Dec 07 '07
Pros: Works like a dream great price. Cons: Hard seat and little mods available
Bought this bike new at the end of 2004, reduced pricing for the roll out of the Boulevard. I am 6'3" and about 300lbs, the bike handles my weight great and proves to be very powerful, and smooth. The foot peg location is a little short for me, makes me feel like I'm riding with my knees at my elbows. First couple of rides by myself were great, when I added my passenger we bottomed out the shock and rubbed through the brake light wires and killed the bike. Fixed this by wrapping the wire in hard plastic tubing and setting the shocks to heavy. The seats are a little uncomfortable, but I can go about 100 miles before I have to stop (need gas anyway). Very low vibration and nice and quiet. Shaft drive is a dream come true. A little hard to find good aftermarket parts that really look good, but bike looks good stock.
