Pros: Spacious, comfortable, and a SOLID VALUE Cons: Ubiquitous, some dependability issues, some safety issues, some feature issues... The Bottom Line: When does a "totally average" mini-van become "above average"? When it's a TOTALLY AWESOME VALUE --- Like Dodge Caravan. Here's why...
Hard to believe summer's almost over already! Like most American families, the mrkstvns clan likes to mark the passing of warm weather with a last hurrah on the Labor Day weekend. This year, my clan joined my brother's clan for a long weekend of ...

Pros: Low Price! Good steering and general comfort Cons: Lack of luxuries; Rear seat has to be lifted out to remove; Average workmanship quality The Bottom Line: Dodge Caravan makes a good choice for a starter minivan. It is inexpensive and it gives you the basics.
I like looking at cars and trucks and I have owned several different vehicles types over the past twenty years. Most of my ownership has been sportier cars but I have also owned a sedan and two SUVs. I am always on the lookout for other types of ...

Pros: Nice ride for a minivan Cons: The IRRITATING fasten seatbelt warning is MORE than unnessisary! The Bottom Line: Nice style, nice ride and comfortable seats.

Pros: More features and less mileage for the same price range of other minivan Cons: Clumsy looking dashboard, and steering wheel controlbuttons are too small for normal hands
I just bought this car in February 2008 for $15,000 with 17,000 miles.
I have considered Honda Odssey and Toyota Sienna; however, for $15M I could only get an older car with higher mileage.
I have no regrets of my purchase considering that I got a new car with less mileage and more standard equipment. The only hinderance was the crash test rating compared to the other two minivans.
I have test-driven all the vans for the $15M price range and you can't beat the Caravan, unless you can afford the premium for the same mileage and age of car.
As for the quality of the minivan, the drive is similar to the other vans, however, the interior still has that GM feel especially the radio (which needs some getting used to), automatic doors was a great feature especially if you have children and the stow'n go seatting (simple to use.

Horrible Handling/Ride

Pros: Huge cargo volume if you need it. I don't unless evacuating from a hurricane. Cons: Handling! Each curve was an exercise in agony (or terror).
I had to rent one recently when the rental agency ran out of cars. I was told to just drive it like a car. If I did that, I would have probably had a wreck.
The vehicle is underpowered even with a V6 compared to my 4-cylinder Camry.
The handling/steering at highway speeds is very poor. On anything other than a very gentle curve, I had to slow to 40-45 MPH or so to avoid feeling like the Caravan would miss the curve or tip over. On a straight stretch of road, the suspension is sloshy at best. The tail gate is so huge and lifts so high it hit my garage door overhead. The side doors are difficult to close and had me worried they were stuck open on several occasions.
