Pros: Price, products, customer support, and technical support provide a positive experience for the consumer. Cons: AT&T uses one vendor for the U-verse equipment.
AT&T U-verse product provides competition to cable service by providing an alternative for internet, television, and phone service on the same cable. The trio of services do not all have to be purchased so a consumer can choose to purchase one, ...

Pros: Excellent customer service, fast internet speeds, awesome tv sound and picture quality. Cons: Installation

Pros: Great picture quality, user interface, whole-house DVR, internet. Great price and quality. Cons: Terrible customer service and support Whole-house DVR limitations
We switched to U-Verse earlier this year from Comcast after it became available. Comcast was so expensive that by bundling our (old analog) home phone, cable w/2 DVR boxes, and internet, the combined U-Verse package was nearly $100/mo ...

Pros: Great operating system, easy to use, fast internet service, clear analog cable channels. Cons: Customer service is pathetic. Once you have established the service, AT&T doesn't care about you.

I'm really disappointed with U-Verse service, by sophysmom ,Jul 14 '09
Pros: customer support helpful, but there have been too many reasons that I needed to call Cons: Aspect ratio is not consistent.
I had Dishnetwork for over 7 years but one of my friends just raved about U-Verse, and when the guy came to my door and explained it all, I decided to go for it. I love the concept, hate the delivery! What they didn't tell me was that the aspect ration on my HD TVs does not work when a TV station broadcast is NOT HD: The picture on the TV screen is not full, there are black bars along the sides, and you cannot adjust it. That did not happen with my Dishnetwork service, I always had full screen regardless of whether the broadcast was in HD or not. Unfortunately I already removed my satellite dish. I am so upset I could just cry. I am considering cancelling it but I'm embarassed to call Dishnetwork back. I may try DirectTV
I Just Don't Have the Urge by savinocr ,Dec 09 '08
Pros: More HD for the money Cons: Horrible digital music
We switched from Comcast digital to Uverse digital. Picture quality is just OK and about every 30 minutes I get a loud buzz and pixels all over the screen. But I can live with that. What I can't live with is the poor quality of Urge channels. Sound quality is poor and the music selection is horrible. We like to have smooth jazz on in our home and instead of Fourplay, Richard Elliot, and Paul Taylor, we get a heavy dose of Rosemary Clooney and Bobby Darin. Whoever selects their music is clueless. I can only hope that it improves before I am forces to switch back to Comcast and Music Choice.
Absolutely the worst in ALL aspects! by tdesenfants ,Jun 09 '09
Pros: Nothing! Cons: See all the above.
I went from Comcast to uverse for 4 months. The uverse service is abysmal! Tech support knows nothing about the product, when you get a real person who can speak the language. No one ever returns calls as they promose. I spent 6 hours trying to get internet for my desktop. Their reply was that I had defective software, call Mocrosoft. I needed a WAN number but they didn't understand that in 6 hours of calls and being put on hold. I once asked to speak to a supervisor but was told the supervisor was busy and couldn't help me. Picture quality in HD is mediocre compared to comcast. I cancelled uverse TV and internet but not the phone service. Uverse shut off everything. It took 2 weeks for At&t to fix the house phone service. No house phone for 2 weeks due to their screw up. Everyone apologizes but no one can fix the problems. NEVER AGAIN!
