Pros: Reasonable price, worked well for the first couple months Cons: Not durable, doesn't hold air, pump is very noisy
We bought our Aero Mattress topper a little more than a year ago. At first, it worked well and we were happy with it -- but then it started to leak. It started out being a very slow leak, but now, even though we wake up to re-inflate it 4-6 times a ...
Pros: Very effective for chronic pain conditions Cons: NOISY/LEAKS AEROBED WILL DO NOTHING OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY WHICH IS ONLY ONE YEAR.
I bought two: a twin and a king. One side of the king which my boyfriend uses started leaking about 3-4 months ago. It is completely deflated by morning. Next the twin started with a less dramatic leak which became worse. I called Aerobed. They won't do ...
Pros: Better than what I had before, Very well constructed. Cons: Pump is loud, Not as soft, still will sag if mattress does
I received my aero topper queen size the other day and I have to say compared to what I was sleeping on it was good. Our bed sagged a little in the middle and with the aero topper I still leaned a little to the middle, so it needs to be on a firm surface to really work. It wasn't as soft as I was expecting and smelled like plastic, but I got over that pretty quick once I got the bed made. Standard fitted sheets do not work, you will need deep pocket sheets. The pump is loud when inflating. Over all it's not that bad, I haven't had it long so I don't know how well it's gonna hold up over time. If you have a terrible mattress like we did and don't have the money to spend on a new mattress this is the way to go. I hope this helped someone.
Pros: Air cushion is wonderful. Cons: It lasted less than a year.
Loved sleeping on the mattress topper. I had it for 11 months and it has started to lose air gradually. That was OK, but now it has developed large bubbles where the top and bottom portions are glued together. Still better than a hard mattress, but obviously won't last much longer. And I notice that the Mattress Topper is no longer carried on the main Aero website.
Pros: easy to use, comfortable when it stays inflated Cons: leaks air
I would have LOVED this, but I'm filling it a few times during the night. Now I'm back to just my mattress and my back is starting to ache. I was great for the first 6 months. Not sure how other air sleep systems compare with the leakage issue.
Great except for the leaks by chinook2 ,Jan 04 '06
Pros: Improved sleep comfort. Cons: Tendency to develop leaks.
Greatly improved our comfort while sleeping. After a year it developed leaks. I guess the manufacture is aware of the tendency to leak - they include a patch kit. We patched ours - six months later it developed another leak. This would be a great product except for the leaks. Hopefully they or another manufacture will make a product that holds up better.
Very comfortable while it lasts by mnheaven ,Jan 31 '06
Pros: Extremely comfortable, air pump works great. Cons: Lasts about 6-8 months before leaking.
I first got one after hip replacement surgery and found it extremely comfortable. After about 6-8 months it developed a "tumor" and leaked. It has a 1-year warranty so I got it replaced. Same thing happened a second time. I still was willing to buy another because it's so comfortable. I hope they figure out how to prevent the leaking because it's the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on. I'll probably continue to get it replaced then buy another each time.
We've had two Toppers.
The first one failed. Leaked and didn't last the night. This was on our bed and not camping.
We did receive a warranty replacement, without a problem, and had the same problem.
We had an Aero bed many years ago and it still works.
I have to think that the quality has changed.
I have had two of these for almost two years. Both are twins and one has developed a slow leak. My brother has had two king size and they did not last a year each. If you are going to buy one of these, get nothing larger than a twin and try to be gentle with them. I put the leaking one in the spa and found the leak near the valve. Tried to seal it but it still has a slow leak. We also found it necessary to put a memory foam topper on top of the Aero bed topper to smooth it out. Now it is probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. At the current price I WILL replace it when necessary.
