Pros: It works well in preventing colds from forming. Cons: The levels of vitamins in the tablets, the suggested dose, not FDA approved
The saying “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” can be interpreted many ways. It can be a way for parents to encourage their children to eat fruit or a clever slogan to promote purchasing apples. But perhaps the most meaningful message that can come ...

Pros: It works, it works quickly, and it tastes good (to me). Cons: A little pricy. Allergen for some. Must take before cold takes hold.
I was very dubious about this product. An expensive tube of 10 effervescing tablets for all that money $5-$6-$7 - I don't remember. It seemed a lot. I read it and it seemed like it only had a few vitamins, some echinacea, and a few herbs I only knew as ...

Pros: Seems to work if you take it soon enough. Both flavors taste good to me. Cons: Scummy ring that remains after going through the dishwasher.
I think this is a pretty good product. Seems to ward off the cold you think you might be getting when you feel that feeling (at least I do) near the sinuses and above the soft palate. I don't take it every three hours -- trying to conserve it because ...
Pros: Humurous and entertaining to watch others get jipped. Cons: Doesn't work. Not approved by FDA. Class action lawsuit. Bogus clinical trials. Created by "SchoolTeachers".

Pros: Few if any. Cons: A primarily useless dietary supplement.

Pros: The pros are these tablets work!!! Cons: None at all. The taste was not a factor to me.
Yesterday I felt a virus coming on. I had already purchased Airborne but had not used it yet. I took a tablet and it did just what it promises, it killed the virus that I felt coming probably surely brought on by this strange cold weather here in Chicago in mid August. I will swear to the fact that I immediately started to feel better very soon after swallowing down this magic formula. Who cares about taste when the products does its job. I will swallow a brick if it would make me fell better. A bit pricey in some drug chains but Walmart sells it for $5.00 and some change. Well worth it. Check your local Target stores too.
The bottom line is this, this product will have you up and around in no time flat, run don't walk and purchase these miracle tablets! God bless the woman who invented Airborne!!!!
Pros: I actually love the lemon flavor. its like medicated crystal light. It may work? Cons: Expensive... it may not work?
Tried airborne a couple times at first notice of feeling weird... still got extremely sick. Looking at the ingredients I'm not so sure... they are all pretty normal herbs I could get fresh around the corner for cheaper... and some have had very mixed results (take Echinacea for instance...) I dunno... I'd rather just get quality herbs/vitamins of the ones that I know work (for less money), and plenty of rest.
I could do a commercial for this product! by jethrodfrog ,Jan 28 '06
Pros: It got rid of my cold! Need I say any more? Cons: expensive
I took it at the first signs of getting a cold...and it worked!! It was awesome! I just can't say enough about the product. I don't know if I overkilled it, because I took it for three days, or until the product was gone. That is the one problem with this product is it doesn't tell you when to stop taking it. But all in all, well recommended!
Do yourself a favor and stock Airborne in your home by lorrelai ,May 30 '04
Pros: You can totally avoid a cold, or heal quickly if you have one already Cons: I wish it was cheaper ($7), plus stores that carry it run out frequently
This is fantastic stuff. It works. When I feel a cold coming on, such as runny eyes, sneezing all day, using up a box of tissues, etc., if I take this, and I usually take it with Alacer Emer'gen-C (www.alacer.com/home.htm) or Electrolyte Stamina Power Pak (www.traceminerals.com/products/elstpwrpak.html), I *will not* get the cold. I've bought this for my whole family and they all keep it stocked now. The stores near me can't keep it on the shelves, and this is because of word of mouth. My brother had a cold recently that would not go away - endless coughing and sneezing. This was right after I found Airborne. So I brought him the goods and by the next day after taking one dose he was on the mend.
Warning: Be Very Careful Taking This High Dose by vacationstop ,Mar 14 '07
Pros: Might help some people psychologically (placebo effect), however, read our cons. Cons: Side effects to recommended doses can be terrible; no mention of this on packaging.
I've had 3 colds while taking Airborne this season, a record for me. I had none the year before, and only one the year before that. If Airborne helps anyone, I think it must be psychological, which if perfectly fine if it works. However, be warned; taking the recommended dosage on the package can make you very, very sick. My sister became nauseous and dizzy; I, too, became very dizzy with severe diarrhea; and our mother practically passed out from taking 3 doses in 12 hours. I would say this is a little like the old snake oil the traveling salesman used to sell, except Airborne has the ability to actually make you feel worse. There probably should some control over this high dosage or, at least, a warning label.
Pros: If your wallet seems heavy, this'll lighten it right up for you!! Cons: That it doesnt work at all, and doesnt taste good. Try Flinestones instead!!!!!!
I bought a tube of airborne because I work at one of the retailers, so I saw it often. I bought it and started to take it, to keep from getting a cold that my mom and brother always seem to get. Well, I took it, and I have a cold RIGHT now. I just took one, just to see if it could redeem itself. I had really high hopes for this icky tasting Alka_Seltzers! They taste bad and they DONT help!!!
Pros: Will kill germs trying to enter in to make you ill Cons: Expensive for just 10 pills
I was not sure if I wanted to spend 6 dollars for 10 tablets when I wasn't even sure if it was going to work. However I gave it a try because everyone in my family goes on and on about how great the stuff is. I woke up Sunday morning with my throat feeling funny and my glands in my neck swollen. Coming from a person who gets about 10 colds every winter, I knew this was the first sign of a long two weeks of coughing, sneezing, and over all feeling pretty miserable. I took 3 doses of the medicine and to my surprise all my symptoms disappeared within 24 hours. I sing every week and I have to make sure I have my voice so I was willing to try anything and now that I have tried Airborne I make sure I keep a tube of it in my purse!
The best product I've ever purchased for health by valparks ,Feb 20 '06
Pros: Stops colds before they get really bad.Reduces trips to the doctor for antibiotics. Cons: It used to be out of stock. Now it is stocked well.
I have told every one I've met who has cold or flu symptoms about this product! I started using it for my children (half of tablet for kids ) back in 2004 after seeing the inventor on Oprah.
We no longer have to take antibiotics as we used to.
I highly recommend this product, I can't express how grateful I am to have it !
Just a caution about Airborne by heatherv ,Jun 11 '06
Pros: It got rid of the cold symptoms quickly! Cons: I had an immediate reaction of itching and rash all over my body.
I wanted to caution people because though I took it to lessen the oncoming cold symptoms, once they'd subsided I broke out into a massive rash from the feet to the neck. It wasn't raised like a penicillin rash but, then, I realized that people who had asthma reacted to the herbal ingredients in the product.
I ended up going to the doctor because the itching would not stop even with an anti histamine tablet they suggested I take.
The doctor said that as I'd taken the tablets every three hours at the onset of the cold, not changed anything else in my day, this was probably the culprit.
Please don't overdo it if you've had asthma or allergies to plants in the same family as echinacea.
Pros: It works well. Cons: Not crazy about the taste.
I am in and out of Dr's office alot with my uncle so i decided to try Airborne. So far i have not been sick.
There have been nights when i really felt like i was coming down with something and i took this and to my surprise the next day i felt great. So i would say it really worked for me.
Pros: easy to take, lemon, lime flavor is pretty good. Cons: wish there were more tablets in the tube.
Started feeling under the weather and while cruising the cough/cold isle at the pharmacy, Airborne caught my eye. I remember seeing the commercials and thought...why not try it. Reading the ingredients it seemed to be a good boost to my immune system, and so far so good. I feel pretty good, no real signs of the cold anymore.
Airborne did nothing for us by slither ,Jan 23 '07
Pros: Causes minimal harm unless you take it daily. Cons: Ridiculously expensive for the ingredients.
A group of us traveled together and all caught the same cold, including the 4 people taking Airborne. They were convinced that Airborne had made their symptoms milder, but since we all felt that this was a mild cold and none of us missed out on any travel activities, I'm now convinced that Airborne is no better than a good cheap multivitamin.
Pros: Only need to use a small amount of water. Taste is quite tolerable. Cons: None as long as it remains available in stores!
Typically, I have gotten two colds a year - 1 in summer and 1 in winter. However, last year I ran myself down quite a bit and since October, I have been sick EVERY month with nasty colds and fatigue... until now (June).
I tried Airborne around mid-month when I felt my usual symptoms starting even though they weren't severe. The cold never fully developed and I went back to feeling normal in short order. Then a few days ago, I came down with a bad sore throat, I was sneezing all day and feeling crappy. I ran to several stores that night and found Airborne and starting taking it immediately. The next day, I wasn't sneezing, the congestion was minimized, and most of the sore throat was gone. Today, I feel perfectly fine again! I'm still taking it today to make sure the cold will not appear and then I'll taper off again.
This is the first month that I have not gotten sick since October and I'm thrilled! I am going to extol the virtues of Airborne to everyone.
Pros: Works for me what more can I say? Cons: After the Cold is already in progress I didn't see that much benefit.
I'm 62 yrs. young and somewhat "Crusty" ........usually I just don't buy into claims of get well quick snake oil remedies. I've used Airborne now for about 2 years and it is fantastic stuff and works for me. I try and take it as directed when I know someone close to me has the making of a Cold headed their way. It has stopped colds in their tracks for me.
Kept me healthy when my whole family had the Flu. by bhardy1018 ,Jan 15 '06
Pros: Easy to use. Seems to work against flu as well as cold viruses. Cons: Tastes unusual, but not too bad. I put mine in Gator-Ade.
I bought Airborne at the recommendation of several people at work. I was skeptical that herbal potions really worked, but I decided to try it. My two daughters, my wife, and my mom and dad all came down with a nasty stomach flu 2 days after a family get-together. At the first sign of illness in them, I started taking Airborne as a test. A week after having direct contact with my children's various coughs, sneezes, and vomits (sorry), I never contracted ANY sign of the flu. This virus was EXTREMELY contagious, and I have never avoided a bug that my whole family came down with before. So, based on my trial run, I recommend Airborne as a fast response to any cold OR flu virus that may come knocking at your door.
There really isn't much I can say about this product that hasn't been mentioned by everyone else. This is a great preventative product for getting a cold. When you feel the prelude to a cold, slight tickle in your throat or feeling run down this is what you need.
I've used this product all winter when I felt a cold coming on or when I've been in contact with sick people / kids and its kept me from getting sick.
Not sure how much this would help if your already sick.
Pros: Easy, low $, taste, it works amazingly - i swear Cons: Everyone is sold out!!!! Its very hard to find.
Airborne is a miracle worker. I first started taking airborne a couple of weeks ago when I was deathly ill with the flu. I know the directions say to take it at the first sign of a cold, but I took it in the middle of my flu. I took one cup at night (with heated water so it tasted like tea) and within two hours it had eliminated my fever. I slept on it and the next morning, it cleared up my congestion, I could finally breathe through my nose. The following day I was much, much better. And the ginger helps so much since cold medicine makes my nauseous. It was so nice taking something that I was able to keep down. Ever since then every time I feel a scratch in my throat or start feeling the pressure behind the eyes, I turn to airborne. I have a feeling I wont be sick anymore this winter!
Product Works Great - Delivery from Company is HORRIBLE by kjf1 ,Feb 01 '05
Pros: Effectiveness Cons: Delivery from Company - HORRIBLE
This product works great! This is the first winter that I haven't gotten the full-blown flu and barely had any colds at all. As far as delivery from the company - the worst experience ever! I placed the order on the 10th of the month, the order wasn't even processed until the 19th and I didn't receive the package until the 28th. I had to order through the company because Oprah mentioned the product on her television show and you could not find it in any drugstore.
I can't believe how well it works! by raceis ,Dec 30 '04
Pros: It works, it's easy, it's compact, it's inexpensive and did I mention it WORKS! Cons: None!
Do you remember Tang??? Tastes just like it but you feel great after taking it!
It really is an amazing product. I used to get sick every month for at least a week... No really my friends and co-works would often say "Are you sick again?". And I would get really sick, out for days sometimes weeks at a time.
In the past year I've only been sick twice and I would categorize them as "just a little under the weather."
I suggest to read the directions and take it as often as it will allow you too during a cold.
I love the gummi lozenges too I keep a package on me at all times.
OH and p.s. it's a great hang-over remedy too.. Not sure if they intended it for that though.
Dangerous with Blood Thinners by sparky33 ,Nov 08 '06
Pros: I have no comment. Cons: AIRBORNE is a very dangerous product in combination with blood thinners;Warfarin, resulting in internal bleeding!
After taking Airborne for 5 days my INR level jumped from its consistent 3.0 level to above 6.0 (possibly greater since I quit taking Airborne two days prior to INR testing. This level caused me to bleed internally. Once I stopped taking Airborne my blood level is now returning to a safe level.
I wrote the Airborne people with my comments suggesting they provide a warning for people on Blood Thinners! Their reply to me was: "Always consult with your doctor prior to taking over the counter products!"
Pros: It works! Cons: The orange zest flavor is quite nasty. Expensive - $6.99 @ Walgreens.
I'm around sick kids all day everyday and have not gotten sick yet. I don't take 1 every 3 hours like the dosage says otherwise I'd go through a tube of tablets a day! All & All this product is worth a try.
Pros: IT WORKS, IT WORKS, IT WORKS!!! Did I mention that it works? Cons: ALWAYS SOLD OUT DURING COLD SEASON!!! STOCK UP!!!
I have always suffered from violent colds and flus lasting 5-7 days. Now my mild colds last only a day or two! The trick is to take it every 3 hours... no exceptions! I even set an alarm during the night... I know it may sound extreme but I've only had three SUPER MILD colds in the past year! These tablets are worth every penny and the taste... it's just like Orange Tang! No problem.
Pros: It seems to work for some people Cons: Got very sick regardless of using Airborne
I have mixed thoughts about this product. At first it seemed to help fight off the viral illnesses I get every winter, where the symptoms go away quickly. However, the after effects of a cold still linger, like voice trouble (I'm a singer and can't afford to lose my voice). This past winter, while taking Airborne regularly, I picked up 2 nasty viral illnesses that I have not had in years and one of them lasted for 2 weeks. This is why I can't really say if this product even works for me. Maybe I'll find out next winter.
I don't have proof... but it works for me. by neenermd ,Apr 11 '05
Pros: I haven't been sick all year! Cons: Expensive, hard to find. About 60-70 cents a tablet can mean about $3 a day.
I am a huge skeptic when it comes to these things. I am a physician and I generally try to investigate these alternative ideas before I believe in them. But the truth is, I work in a hospital, all day, almost every day of the week. On at least 4 separate occasions, I have started to feel a cold coming on (sore throat, fatigue, headache, runny nose), and my mom bought me some Airborne so I figured it couldn't HURT. Since I started taking the stuff (about 6 months ago, throughout the entire winter and cold season) I have not had one cold. Not one. Usually I have about 3-4 colds every winter because of all of the sick people at work. So I have decided that Airborne works for me, until I can prove otherwise.
Great remedy to make you feel better, like the taste! by appleimacdude ,Feb 23 '09
Pros: A lot of good ingredients, convenient, good taste, makes you feel better. Cons: Unfairly grossly penalized for original advertising claims and studies not done by experts.
I am one of the people that love Airborne - when I have a cold, I usually take this too late - way after the cold has manifested, and I think to buy some. However, I notice in a few minutes my nose has opened up significantly, and my sneezing has slowed or stopped. It just plain makes me feel better for a couple hours.
Pros: Easy to take and I really believe it works. Cons: None, if you add the juice.
Just a note to say that I tried adding some orange juice to my lemon-lime flavored Airborne and it tastes great. I wait until the tablet has fully dissolved before I add the juice. I cant imagine that doing this would decrease the effectiveness, but if someone knows otherwise please tell me.
Pros: Tastes good, easy to carry with you and very effective. Cons: If I wait too long before starting the Airborne process, it doesn't seem to help.
I am one of those people who get everything that comes down the pipeline and when I get sick, I get very sick.
Airborne has been very effective for me.
I start taking it at the first sign of trouble and when traveling. Some time I take it just because. I have many grandchildren and it seems like a good idea to take it when they're around a great deal, like Christmas vacation and summer time.
Airborne works but gives me gas! by spazexcalibur ,Dec 05 '08
Pros: Works well when taken before you are sick...not so much after. Cons: If you are already sick does not work. Causes the worst gas ever w/upset stomach.
I am not a placebo effect person..I have been taking allergy medication since I was 6...a drug either works or it doesn't and it's very easy to tell in someone that has had to take a lot of medicine. Airborne works really well for me if i take it at the first sign of neck and knee pain (my first clue that i have a virus of some sort) If I wait till I am sick I really don't see that it helps much.
Seems like opinion has become more important than science by oldgeezr ,Feb 19 '08
Pros: None Cons: What are you people thinking?
What are people thinking? Where are the scientific studies? A second grade teacher creates a medicine( o excuse me suppliment). Should I remind people that the US is behind the rest of the world in science education.
