Pros: ~A Whole-Lotta Mac for a Little Desk Space~ Cons: ~Nothin' 'cept they released a better version 2 mths after I bought this one.~
I seriously have a computer problem. There is one of me, and three of them. One PC and Two Macs, a Laptop and a Desktop. This Desktop. Specifications of Mine: Memory: 2.5GB 533 DDR2 SDRAM - 1x512, 1x2GB Hard Drive: 500GB Serial ATA drive ...
Pros: Gorgeous display, build quality, craftsmanship, design. Mac OS X. Cons: Price. Different software selection for OS X than Windows. Pheripherals become dirty quickly.
I didn't take the iMac out of the box but I wish I did. In fact, it's not my system but I wish it was. The first time I saw the iMac at my girlfriends house -- I convinced her to buy one -- I was impressed by its look-at-me presence which stems from a ...
Pros: Great Display, great software bundle, excellent connectivity to Wintel Networks Cons: no upgradable video card or CPU, front row a little weak
I have an iMac G4 17" at the office and now this new G5 20" at home. Wow, I have compared them side-by-side and the display is significantly better! Much brighter, clearer! My 17" G4 is at max brightness, and the 20" is only at half and it is still ...
Pros: Small footprint, powerful, no lockups, looks unbelievable, easy to use. Cons: Odd mighty mouse operation, but thats the only gripe.
I have just made the switch this week from a Dell 800mhz to this 20" G5 with 1 gig ram and 250HD. 1st quick impression is wow! I am loving it so far. I am not familiar with anything Apple but I was so frustrated at my PC(yes it was old and running ME) ...
Buy the 20 inch version with no regrets by miklnco ,Feb 22 '06
Pros: Fast start up, ultra cool looks, one wire conn with the wireless version. Cons: Learning a new OS, small library of software(subj to change). Cons very minor IMO
My son and I went to a local Apple Store to look at ipod stuff. I knew nothing about Apple Computers(figured they were for computer geeks). After we left I researched their computer line thoroughly and found them to be quite reliable. The duo processor just came out and felt it was very competitively priced with the flat screen monitor and all. I took the plunge the next day for a 17in version. Bought it to replace a Sony Vaio Desktop. During unpacking all I could say is WOW!!! I stayed up for nearly 24hrs learning what I could and playing around. The whole next week I was kicking myself, wishing I had bought the 20in. I bellied up and paid the restocking fee of 10% and got the 20in. You can view two web browsers side by side very nicely and it's also nice for the bling factor when guests come over.
Slick and Stylish the best PC around with UNIX! by vjrossetti ,Dec 21 '05
Pros: Good Looks, UNIX base, easiest Mac to upgrade hardware Cons: Can't upgrade video or motherboard, less software
I'm impressed with the new iMac G5. One is the stylish design -- it's 17" and especially 20" screen is phenomenal! It also is easy to repair and easy to put in the limited products that can be installed -- Memory, Air Cards, etc. With Office 2004, you'll feel that your working on a better PC than IBM, Dell, or HP every delivered. Of course there's no Windows XP and Windows emulation is slow, but it provides everything for the average user to advanced creative user. Although much business software is not made in droves for the Mac platform. The built in iSight Camera and Front row are a blast!
I had been a PC and UNIX user for many years and have dappled in other operating systems including the Mac OS software. With the integration of Unix as the base for OS X, this could be the future of all operating systems including Windows. It's created a very stable environment. A little bit above Windows XP at the moment... I'll be watching the new Windows Vista very closely, but for now this is the PC I work on everyday, but I still have a WIndows XP machine available.
