Pros: Battery life +18 hours. Easy operation. Easy MP3 managing w/ Apple iTunes software. Cons: None :)
I was using my iPod and thought the battery wasn't really that good - too many reviews out there talk about the battery life being VERY poor. Well, I ran a test...started the iPod at one time and left it playing...18 hours and 20 minutes later, the iPod ...
Pros: Awesome styling, endless add-ons, great sound quality, etc. etc. etc. Cons: Price is a little high, but considering what you get its actually not too bad.
I have wanted an iPod for a while but couldnt see myself paying that kind of money ($200-4gb or $249-6gb)on an mp3 player. I had a 256 mb Rio and kept onto it for as long as I could. That just became a hassle, it only held about 60 songs so i found ...
Really upset it's being discontinued by purplerobe ,Sep 12 '05
Pros: Really small, but solid. Holds a lot of music. Cons: Interface is not as intuitive as I'd like. Sleeve an absolute must.
Apple announced this week that it was putting out the new iPod nano -- for about what I paid for my brand-new 6GB mini this February (the week it came out). It's been on the market a whole 7 months, and is being upstaged by some new flash-based iPod! I am depressed.
Audio snobs have said for years that the compression on the mp3's/AAC files have been audibly inferior to analog and CD. I've plugged my iPod into good stereo systems, and can't tell the difference in sound from the original recording. My new Scion xA has a kick-butt stereo system, and I can hear every flaw in the tracks I've transfered into the 'Pod (mostly due to the analog source material), but there's still no difference in sound quality. I consider myself an audiophile, and I don't know what the naysayers are ranting about.
Apple iPod mini Blue Second Gen. by reznorik ,Oct 13 '05
Pros: features, speed
Cons: Expensive
The Apple iPod mini Blue Second Gen. (6 GB - M9803LL/A) MP3 Player works just as well for your everyday pursuits. With up to 25 minutes of skip protection, you can even walk the dog in style. The chic, matte anodized aluminum case resists stains and scratches, all the while protecting your iPod mini from, say, the jostle of overzealous paparazzi. Recessed in the case to keep its surface pristine, the 1.67-inch (diagonal) back lit screen displays full song and album titles, artists names and more. This is a cool ipod and I love it!
Pros: Sleek, easy to use, holds plenty of music Cons: battery goes quickly if used in short uses
iPod mini 6GB is great. Its so easy to use especially for me, someone who thought they would never figure it out. The battery life is ok, doesn't do great with short uses. The ipod is expensive but very worth it.
Great player but has problems by f8lee ,Dec 28 '05
Pros: Excellent design, great ergonomics Cons: battery issue?
I'm a great fan of Apple and laud their fantastic concept and design for the iPods, The Mini is certainly quite small and portable, and eminently useable.
Having had it for a year, though, I am having some very strange problems. I plug it into the iMac and nothing happens - iTunes does not display the normal synchronizing and "okay to disconnect" messages, and the iPod screen is blank. I have rebooted it endless times, to no avail. When playing, sometimes it just outright stops, even though the battery indicator shows 80% full.
This is sporadic behavior - sometimes it works fine.
I have heard of battery problems with the first generation iPods, and wonder if they have not migrated to the Mini. I think this nifty unit is going to go back for some repair.
