Good All Terrain Tire

by no_eyes1 , Feb 05 '07
Pros: Great traction to get anywhere. Quiet on the road.
Cons: Wears out quickly. When worn out looses all traction, and happens without warning.
The BF Goodrich All Terrain TA KO tire is a true all terrain tire. This tire goes where ever you want it to go. It works well on the road as an everyday tire. Its fatal flaw is when it goes bald. This is a tire that I would buy again for my truck. ...

excellent tire

by alaninafrica , Dec 27 '06
Pros: Good in snow and dirt, rocks, sand. May have saved my life several times.
Cons: mild-moderate increase in road noise over street tires (but worth it).
I have a 1995 Eurovan camper which i put these tires on, and they have been excellent. The vehicle is 2wd, and since i use it to go skiing in utah, and for access to wilderness areas on 4x4 roads, i needed something better than stock road tires. In ...

BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO - long tread life

by tundra-mark , Dec 08 '09
Pros: Treadlife, treadlife, treadlife.  Looks.
Cons: Initial cost.  But the overall cost of ownership is low.
I own a 2007 Toyota Tundra, 4X4.  I purchased these about 18 months ago to replace the original equipment tires (BF Goodrich Rugged Trail).  I had gotten a large nail in one of the tires that was too close to the sidewall to patch, so I had to ...

Best tires for all around

by vincet , Jun 11 '02
Pros: Still the best tire for a heavy vehicle
Cons: I haven't found one yet. OH, White, in or out!
I just bought my seventh set of T/A's in 20 plus years. This new set of 31 1050x15's is for my 99 Durango. A big difference from the factory Wranglers. It is very quit and handles fantastic giving it a much more solid feel on the road. I will be...

On or off road was never this easy

by luckdow , Sep 28 '00
Pros: Extremely Versatile, Looks Great
Cons: Deep clay will create some problems
After changing tires over three times I finally found the tire I was looking for. This tire gives me excellent traction on concrete (yes even wet), but it also gives me the confidence I need while traveling in mud or water. If you are looking for a...

A real 70,000 mile off-road tire

by nchunter , Feb 17 '03
Pros: Long tread life means price is worth it Versatile traction- esp. when aired down
Cons: My truck didn't come with them from the factory
I spend a lot of time on-highway between my off-highway adventures, though I've probably logged 10,000 miles off-highway with this tire. These tires can take the miles unlike any other tire I've owned. Two sets lasted more than 70,000 miles each....

EXCELLANT A/T TIRE and QUIET!!
by mrlynn7 ,Jan 25 '07
Pros: The best overall All-Terrain Tire by far
Cons: Hearing my wife scream at me as these tires through mud on her through mudpits
I bought these tires after seriously considering the Firestone Destination M/T's for my 1998 Jeep Sahara, the firestones after considerable research had the best reviews. I ordereed the Firestones, and when they came in, everyone in the tire shop HIGHLY recommended that I go with the BFG KO's. I argued the stats, they told me that the Firestones would not last, reluctantly, I bought the BFS KO. The very first day I bought the KO's I put them to the test, driving through streams and through mud holes the size of my house, not once did these tires ever slip, I couldn't believe how well these tires gripped. On the road they grip like nobody's business, but on the other hand were quiet. BFG really did their homework designing these tires. Others have said these tires were a little more expensive, I don't think so,you definatley get what you pay for. I cannot say enough paraise for these tires

Best tire for the money
by newfieguy ,Feb 22 '04
Pros: Unsurpassed traction and control in snow, excellent ride and road noise is not an issue.
Cons: None. This tire has no cons that i can see at all!
I bought my set of TA KO'S on the recommendation of a friend who has 120,000 km on his set. We recently got hammered with a snow storm that dumped 95 CM of snow on Nova Scotia and these tires kept my 2003 Sonoma moving even when the plows were getting stuck. The overall performance of this tire is unbelievable in any condition that Canada has to offer. I would not hesitate to buy these tires again

Work Great on "work" trucks
by konstrnkris ,Jan 11 '09
Pros: Durability, and Traction.
Snow Traction is 10/10
Cons: Highway Noise, Tire wear, but I'm Overloaded too.
I have had many sets of these, Current trucks and uses.

1. 2002 F350 reg cab XL 4x4 SRW PSD, w load "E" Used to pull 18,000 lb. Gooseneck. to haul my small excavator, the gooseneck is overgross @ 22,000 lbs GVW.

2. 2005 E250 XL 5.4 w/ Load "E" Tool hauler, Used to pull 14,000 lbs. bumper pull Skidsteer & Other Equiptment Trailer.

3. 2004 F150 reg cab XL 4.6 4x4 w/ 245/75/17 Load "E" Wifes Hauler, It Hauls 2500 lbs. of wood to the cabin and pulls a Car Trailer w/ ATV's and other toys on it.

I have been Hauling my Tools and toys for years with these and have had no problems with them on the highway or otherwise, They are great for the offroad jobsite too. I overload my trucks and trailers, Daily, I don't recommend it but I do it.

I even had a set on the rear Duals on a Mitsubishi Fuso FE-SP Cabover Box Truck, I ran rugged trails in the front, the TA-KO's were a little too noisy to have 8" under your butt!

TRUCK CAMPER
by mickdq ,Jan 07 '05
Pros: Price. Great traction with smooth ride on highway. Available in load rating of D.
Cons: Not available in load rating of E.
Recently purchased and installed on pick up with 2 ton camper, 1 ton rear. These tires hug the road and added stability to my truck camper. Replaced some old "D" rated tires that were on truck when I bought it with these "D" rated B.F.Gs. The B.F.G. All Terrain TA KO are much stiffer and cut down on drift and sway immediately. I just ran them on holiday trip from LA to Portland,Oregon and back. I had them up to higher speeds up on Rt. 5 and they performed sweetly. They held road and gave smooth ride. Came back down the coast Route 1 during storms. Winding road, rain and mud. They stuck to the road like glue. Hit some camp grounds that had mud and never spun a bit. Great tire. Very happy and secure.

Not good for real trucks.
by wickldb ,Sep 24 '07
Pros: Fabulous snow traction
Cons: Belts break before tread is worn off
I have had two sets of these in size LT235/85R16E on my F250 superduty 4wd PSD. Snow traction is second to none. Slippery on wet roads. First set went on at 66,700 miles. Had a belt break in one and noticed cracking in tread with rust coming out of cracks. Replaced at 104,814 miles with 38,114 miles on tires 5/32 tread left. I received a warranty defect of $35 off each replacement(prorate warranty). Had belts break in two tires at 151,378 miles for 46,564 miles. 5/32 tread left. I bought Firestones after discussing warranty with BF Goodrich. This truck is used mostly to tow a 7000 GVWR camper and haul firewood. It goes off-road seldomly. 8 tires..3 failures, low mileage, If you have these watch for the cracking in the tread. Not good for a truck used as a truck.

An excellent snow / ice tire
by dickthomas ,Aug 30 '06
Pros: A perfect winter tire. Very pleased.
Cons: A bit pricey - - shop around. Try Costco.
I work in the ski industry, and spend 5-6 months each year in heavy winter, snow conditions. Without questions these are the very best snow/ice tires I have ever driven on. Summers in Southern California and winters in the Northern California mountains,(not a bad life).

The tires are fine for Southern California freeway driving, and have given excellent service and mileage. I am currently in the process of purchsing a new 2007 GMC SUV, and will equip it with this tire. I just spoke to the B F Goodrich factory folks, and they tell me that as of 9-1-06 they will be "launching" size 265 65 R18,(part #02625) which is the OEM size for the new 2007 Denali. The Goodrich consumer number is: 877 788-8899.

One of the best tires for the price!
by footballbob06 ,Feb 16 '04
Pros: Good looking Lots of mileage out of them.
Cons: not mud terrain
BFG has always been an outstanding tire company. I believe this is the best All terrain Tire on the market. I have 35" tires on my truck with about 2,000 miles on them and there is no sign of wear they still have the nipples on them. As their name says all terrain thats what they are they will go almost everywhere.
