Pros: Bagless, most of the filters are washable. Good suction. Cons: Hose is not stretchy enough, attachments could be better.
Well, I got the Bissell 6590 series at Wal-Mart a few days ago. I have never owned a new vacuum, I have always had a hand me down, so I decided I needed my very own new one. This vacuum was about $96. This vacuum is an upright bagless with 12 amps ...
Pros: Can't think of a single one, unfortunately. Cons: Really poor filter design. Creates more mess than it cleans.
Philosophical pondering How did the vacuum manufacturers ever convince us that bagless vacs were an improvement over the previous bagged design? Seriously. Ive thought about that a lot lately and decided it was one of those brainwashing ...
Pros: No bags. Great power. Extension tool very good. Cons: None yet. Maybe a little too wide.
After having the same vacuum since our college days, and with new carpeting installed for the holidays, my wife and I decided it was time for an upgrade. Let's face it, almost 10 years of cleaning up dog and (2) cat hair, as well as dealing with the ...
Pros: bagless, easy to use Cons: hard to clean, malfunctioning belt caused damage.
We bought this vacuum about 8 months ago, after ours "died" on us. (We had it for 7 years.) I LOVED that the Bissell Cleanview was bagless. This is not the vacuum for someone with OCD, though. When we first got it, I couldn't believe that much ...
Pros: Very strong suction; Multiple extensions; Bag less; Cons: Sponge filters require regular cleaning;
I bought this vacuum about three years ago. It was very powerful with convenient extensions, but it had frequent problems with the rubber belt. Only after several months it would go loose and I had to replace it. Besides, the suction became really weak. ...
Pros: Very powerful, doesn't leave a "burning" smell as many vacuums do Cons: Heavy, messy, and hard on your back if you're over 4½ feet tall
I thought a bagless vac would be great, to replace our Eureka (which left a cloud of dust in its wake). The Eureka was also terribly top-heavy, so I liked the low-slung Bissell. Was I ever wrong. True, the Bissell isn't top-heavy, but everything ...
Pros: Great at picking up dog hair, HEPA filter, bagless, Indigo and Lime Green color combo Cons: Pretty loud
After hearing all the hoopla about the Dyson vacuums, I decided I would possibly buy one. I felt like I was missing out on something. After a lot of research, the Dyson did not pan out to be that great, but I did narrow down my search to the Bosch ...
Pros: Inexpensive. Cons: Constantly turning brushes, bad hose, bad tools.
I bought one of these as a replacement for a wet/dry vac that had rusted out do to improper protection against wet use. Since I now had a separate steam cleaner, I figured I'd get a dry-only vac. For normal across the floor use, it works fine. ...
Pros: Bagless Cons: Poor engineering makes the power and suction of this vacuum irrelevant.
Since the first day I used my brand new Bissell Bagless I have had nothing but problems with it. The very first time I used it the belt broke. Now, mind you, the carpeting in my house is very low pile and was not excessively dirty at the time. I went to ...
Excellent Vacuum Cleaner by butterfuleyes ,Sep 20 '04
Pros: Long cord, super suction, 3 filters Cons: Cleaning hose is too short.
This is my first vacuum purchase. I've had it for about 6 months and it works just as well as the first day. The filters are easy to clean. I just rinsed off two of the filters and the Hepa filter didn't need to be changed. I have two cats and this vacuum picks up EVERYTHING. When I empty the dust cup, it's so easy. Just move the knob over and take the cup out, empty, slide it back in and you're done. The vacuum doesn't weigh nearly as much as my mom's or my gradma's, but I've used lighter vacuum's. My only complaint is the hose isn't long enough, so when I try to clean high places, it's a pain. The attachments are useful and the cord is long. I can do my whole apartment (800 sq. ft)without moving the cord.
Pros: Great price, good carpet cleaning Cons: Smelly, when tipped fuzz flew!
Have used Hoover vacuums for years. When in the market for a new one, I considered the Dysons, but the price ($400+) seemed a bit excessive. After some research, I decided to give this Bissell a try, as I have a Bissell steam cleaner and have been happy with it. I found it at WalMart for around $90. Loved the price! I can buy 4 of these for the price of one Dyson. It seems to do a very good job of vacuuming the carpet. A couple of slightly negative comments: It really smelled (burning electronic smell) the first few times I used it. Still smells after using about 25 times, but not as overpowering. The other one is that I managed to tip it over while using the tools and fuzz flew everywhere! Be warned!
