Pros: orange scent
Cons: must use A LOT to cover hair, didn't notice anything different, weird consistency
I received the Burt's Bees trial kit in a drugstore.com order quite a while back. I have really enjoyed being able to try all kinds of Burt's Bees products without buying them first. Some I have really liked. Others I have hated. I was becoming...

Cons: does not work on hair
I've had the opportunity to try a number of different Burt's Bees products thanks to the generosity of a friend who gave me a Burt's Bees Head to Toe Starter Kit. I had previously purchased a kit so that added even more products to the number that I've ...

Almost a year ago I bought a sample kit of Burt's Bees products from a local Trader Joe's store. Included in that kit was a small tube of Burt's Bees Avacado Butter Hair Treatment. I didn't bother using the treatment until I decided to go on my ...

I bought Burt's Bees Avocado Hair Treatment from drugstore.com last week for $6.79. It was an impluse buy, and after I ordered it I read the epinions on it. I was looking forward to trying it and was hopeful for a hair miracle! Here is the info I ...

A Good Product Overall

by sinkingblue , Sep 27 '04
Pros: Smells great, extra shiny hair, less fly-aways.
Cons: Pricy, the aluminum tube is annoying, if you don't follow the instructions you're in trouble.
I read the reviews of this product after I had already purchased it, so I went in expecting the WORST. I expected it to smell like rotten fruit and feel like lard in my hair and I was prepared to spend a hour trying to wash the grease out and wake up ...

One product, two uses

by melpaton , Nov 10 '03
Pros: Smells pretty good, makes hair more manageable, also can be used as a hair gel
Cons: Is a little pricey ($9 for the full sized tube, which is 4 oz)
I received a sample size (.4 oz) of this product in the Burt's Bees Head to Toe starter kit. It is advertised to "deeply condition, strengthen and soften dry, brittle, or split hair shafts." I don't have dry or brittle hair, and I like to think that I d ...

The Smell from Hell!!!

by lorna2001 , Apr 22 '04
Pros: Deep conditions dry, damaged, colored, permed hair.
Cons: Smells terrible, feels sticky and greasy when applying to hair.
I have never smelled or eaten an avocado, but if it smells like Burt's Bees Avocado Butter Hair Conditioner, then I think I will pass. Once you get past the smell, and start to apply it to your hair, you will notice how sticky and greasy it feels. I ...

My Favorite Unorthodox Miracle Product

by cashun , Jul 20 '09
Pros: Great on dry, damaged hair.
Great as a finishing lotion, only on the ends.
Cons: Difficult to comb thru dry hair.
Aluminum tube is hard to use.
I have very thick, frizzy hair, that is beyond damaged from styling and color correction.  I have naturally dark brown hair with natural red high lights, but the greys started coming in so I attempted to color it myself. I ended up with jet ...

The results surprised me!!
by aggiegurl ,Feb 12 '04
Pros: works
Cons: weird smell, weird color and consistency
I had color treated, dry hair with split ends that needed a trim very often..so when i saw this product on burt's bees website, i thought of giving it a try..besides, since it is natural..atleast it would not worsen things..

and surprise! surprise!! it improved my hair quality, moisturized it..it made it have a nice healthy shine!

I usually wear it for an hour before a bath and shampoo my hair..It smells awefully bad..has a weird consistency...but it has worked for my hair..and shown me the results i wanted.

Whoa!
by cabast ,Mar 21 '06
Pros: Made hair silky and glossy when used with a ceramic straightening iron.
Cons: A little heavy, should only be used once a week. Takes lots of rinsing.
I've heard many reviews about how this product made hair "greasy", too "slick" and unmanagable. You are using this product wrong! First, never apply heavily concentrated products such as this to the roots. ...Second, and this is my trick to making this product work how it should, I pre-washed my hair, lightly conditioned, then applied, and wrapped in a towel for about 20 mins. Amazing results after! I was a bit leary when I was washing out and applying as it seemed very heavy and greasy but I then blow dried and used a straightening ceramic straightening iron and my hair was almost like glass. This product is great but it's important to use it correctly and sparingly.
