Canon PowerShot S200 / IXUS v² Digital Camera

What I liked about this camera was the ability to use it right out of the box without really reading the directions. It is really easy to use and is a great camera. Just about everyone who looks at my camera wants to buy one. I carry it around in my pocket all the time and even forget that I have it on me sometimes. This is a well designed and extremely versatile camera. I highly recommend it and will definately buy another. Take lots of pictures!

This is a great little camera! It is very small and tough with a metal cover. (I've accidentally dropped it a couple times in a Lowepro case with no effect.) It takes great outdoor pictures and indoor pictures (when there is enough light), and is easy to use. Mode switching between viewing pictures and taking pictures is very fast. The auto focus works very good. I recommend the highest resolution (1600x1200), lowest compression (SF), and ISO 50 speed setting for best results. On the negative side, it has a 2X optical zoom, and the flash is weak. Though the flash works great when real close. Don't take pictures at night more than 6 feet from your subject. (I'm planning to try some sample pictures with a second synchronized flash that will go off in response to the camera's flash.) I've used many digital cameras - Sony Mavica FD-88, Fuji ??, Canon S110, Canon S330, Canon G2, and Canon S10. I like the S200 for a portable point and shoot under the right lighting conditions.

I love this camera. I received it as a Christmas gift and like the previous reviewer, I take it everywhere I go. I love the ease of use and the ability to see the pictures right away. I had to buy a case for 15.99 and a 128 CF card for 50.00.

this is a great point and shoot camera. it's small, and easy to connect to your TV or computer, you can watch the videos (which have sound) on your TV. the viewfinder screen is very helpful for reviewing pictures after you take them, and you can scroll through all your pictures and delete ones you don't want. you can also look at your pictures up close, by using the zoom feature. the battery doesn't last very long, maybe 40 minutes w/ the viewfinder on, but i think all digital cameras are like this. i recommend buying a 128 mb card, so you can store 200 high resolution pics at a time on the camera and you can also store 300 seconds of decesnt quality video. a problem with the video mode - you can only record in 20 second increments. this means you can hold 15 seperate 20 second videos, but you can't have one giant 300 second video. its a great camera. i bought mine on ebay for a discount.

It is small and lightweight and easy to use and configure. I just wish they would have furnished a case with it.

LOVE this camera! The best I have ever used! I would reccomend this camera to everyone. Very easy to upload pics to computer.

I have Canon SLB's for years...fine quality and advanced tech This will be a 2nd camera, pocket carried...I recently bot a Canon G2 which is a fine piece of photo gear and will be used for more serious photograpny along with my Canon EOS, A-1, et al and a host of lenses

I have used many cameras over the years and this is the one that stays with me everwhere I go. It is so handy, because of it's size, that I do not have to make the decision of ... do I take my camera today? It simply stays in my pocket..... Convenience, is one of the key elements to catching the great photograph. Quality is a key to most large cameras but with this little Power Shot....you have both in one.

easy to use. poor warranty on product. service people difficult to get a hold of and sending/getting product returned was difficult. camera is ok if working but I'd get a sony or something more reliable. features were difficult to figure out except the very basic features like viewing and seeing last pictures.

This is a fantastic camera that inspires awe from everyone who sees it. The small size is a plus, making it easy to take anywhere. When more memory is used (I have 128 Mb) this camera can take hundreds of photos without downloading. The quality of the photos is excellent on automatic, and when experiementing with the manual adjustments, you can find all kinds of useful tools to make your photos more interesting. I have been recommending this camera to everyone, on value and quality.
