Pros: Excellent results from a grind-and-brew that's easy to operate and keep clean. Cons: Best reults when brewing 8-10 cups.
Hot plate design should be a thermal carafe.
SHORT STORY: In short, if you care about the flavour of your coffee at home -- and you already apparently care enough to be reading reviews at Epinions -- this machine will not disappoint. Don't expect it to miraculously brew a single cup of ...
Pros: Fresh ground coffee, automatically! Very easy to use. Cons: Water spillage.
Foremost is the ease of operation. One simply pours in the beans and water, sets it and forgets about it...voila, fresh ground coffee in the morning. For me, it really is that simple. Noise: While some complain that it is noisy, I disagree. One ...
Pros: The best home brewed coffee available Cons: None
We came late to the discovery and realization that coffee brewed from freshly ground whole beans is in a class by itself. The Cuisinart grind and brew series was recently offered refurbished at a very attractive price. It brews a delicious cup of ...
Pros: Makes fresh high quality tasting coffee, Easy to clean, User friendly, Money saver Cons: Expensive to most, Digital display is odd, Noisy, Warmer, Not in stores
I put my review together in 4 steps. Step 1: Is this product is right for you? Step 2: Does the product live up to its claims? Step 3: Features and how to use instructions. Step 4: The negatives, are they a deal breaker? Step 1: Is this product ...
Pros: Good design. Cons: Does not make good coffee
I bought this product for my husband's birthday. This machine decides how much beans it needs to grind based on the number of cups you have asked it to make. It does not make a good strong cup of coffee, as it does not grind the beans fine enough. We...
Pros: Unique programming mechanism; conical burr grinder. Cons: Coffee not hot; doesn't pour well; glass carafe.
I brewed coffee for several months in this machine wondering why it wasn't coming out as steaming hot as promised. The coffee was lukewarm at best. I finally called customer service to discuss the issue. They wanted me to go out and buy a thermometer ...
Pros: Easy to use, convenient Cons: Lousy design on coffee pot handle and spout
Received the coffeemaker from Amazon and it arrived with a broken piece. Capresso Customer Service was nice and quick and sent out a replacement part. On the the 2nd day of brewing, the handle to the coffee pot semi-detached from the glass pot, making ...
Pros: conical burr grinder, convenience Cons: design compromises coffee freshness; cannot brew strong enough coffee when making full pots
This is the third programmable grinding/brewing coffee maker we have purchased and used. Like anyone who is willing to put up with the inconvenience of grinding their coffee, we are particular about the end result. If the taste isn't just the way we ...
Pros: Brain-dead ease of use, great coffee. Reliable. Cons: Mine needs a lit display.
Please ignore the woman who clearly doesn't know how to use this machine. This coffee machine will make coffee as strong as you like it. It will grind your beans to dust if you like (it has several settings for both strength and grind size). If you ...
Pros: Convenient, grinder is quiet Cons: Coffee lacks depth, not hot enough
Bought this several days ago. The concept is good: burr grinder, timer, water filter, and all automatic. The results are less than... Yes, the system works as advertised, and the burr grinder is surprisingly quiet. After the initial learning curve,...
Would not recommend if you like a strong cup of coffee by jenniebennie ,Sep 05 '04
Pros: Waking up to the smell of coffee brewing. Cons: As stated, couldn't get my coffee as strong as I like it.
I ordered from Amazon, I thought it would be worth the $200 to wake up to fresh brewed coffee. I was so disappointed! It was fairly easy to learn how to operate and use it, but my problem with it was that you can only program the burr grinder to grind up to 10 cups worth of coffee beans. I kept cutting back on the amount of water, finally down to 6 cups and still wasn't getting a nice, strong cup of coffee. I also tried all four grind settings, with no better results. Finally boxed it up, and shipped it back. I'll go back to grinding my own beans! If you like strong coffee, and need to brew a full, or close to full pot, don't by this coffee maker.
Pros: Works great, easy to clean (unlike many others) Cons: None
Have owned this machine for 5 years - it is great. Excellent coffee and easy to use. Wide range of settings lets you pick the strength of coffee, how fine to grind the beans, etc.
This is the best machine!! by suzannesam ,Feb 15 '05
Pros: Dependable, has a timer, easy to clean and run Cons: I let my office use it and I do not have it at home.
I have had this machine for 5 or 6 years and still it keeps on going.
I bought this machine a gourmet kitchen store
I love it because of the built in grinder, easy operation and mindless programming such as Lite,Med or dark brew and a timer.
It is so easy to maintain and continues to make a great pot of coffee.
I hate the fact that I let my husband take it to the office 4 years ago.
Pros: Great coffee every time. Cons: Noisy. You have to pour very carefully to avoid spilling.
We got this coffeemaker as a wedding present, and it quickly became our favorite. It has multiple settings for the number of cups and the strength of the coffee. It has a timer so the coffee is ready when you get up. The grinder is noisy, like all coffee grinders are. It wakes you up at first, now I sleep through it. This machine makes great coffee!
My only complaints are that I wish it had 2 timer setting because we get up later on the weekend, and the carafe spills very easily when pouring. I find this very annoying in a $200 coffeemaker, considering that my parent's $40 Krups never spills at all.
Pros: Burr Grinder, Stores-Measures-Grinds all in one Cons: Price, reliability, Capresso Cust Support
My wife and I received a Coffee Team Plus for our wedding in 1999. Since then, we have exchanged 4 of them at Williams Sonoma because after about a year something breaks. The last one that one broke, I suggested to both Williams Sonoma and Capresso, that they just give me $200 credit, and deeply discount one of their way more expensive machines ($900 or so) and I would pay some and I'd have a machine that would actually work and stop having to return this $200 machine every year. Neither company took the bait, so I have machine #5. For those of you keeping track that is $1000 in merchandise and still counting. Anyway, the fact that this machine, stores, measures and grinds with a burr grinder is very attractive, however, over the years I have found that the basket that holds the filter stops swinging over completely between the grinding and brewing stage which shuts off the machine. Sometimes, the coffee ground is not the right amount. Other times, the mechanism that is supposed to stop the dripping when you take the carafe out doesn't work.
