Pros: Spacious, nicely appointed room and top-notch service at a truly lovely location. Cons: None, really.
We recently spent a long weekend (3 nights) with our two small children at this resort. It was much more than we expected. The service was excellent and the accommodations impeccable. Our doorman was very friendly and recommended several good ...
Pros: Bargain if you can get the right room and price Cons: Not directly on beach; watch for added fees
I booked a one night stay here as a surprise for my wife. We were staying in a Hilton Head condo for the week. I used Hotwire.com and got a great rate ($87.00 -- a little more than $100 after taxes and fees). It was a Thursday night stay. Initially, ...
Pros: Oceanfront, live band, nice landscaping Cons: Only activities are golf and tennis, small mediocre rooms
I had to attend a conference at this motel in July 2006. It is located in Shipyard Plantation and is oceanfront. Once you enter Shipyard’s guard gate it is a long way to the motel. You have to drive through a maze of “round about” circles, which is ...
Pros: Great attentive staff, nice clean rooms, good food, great bedding. Cons: %RESORT FEE $10/DAY - EXTREMELY UNDERHANDED AND NON OPTIONAL - AVOID!
Recently stayed at this Crowne Plaza and enjoyed it for the most part. The staff was attentive and pleasant, the food in the restaurant was suprisingly tasty, and the bedding was extremely comfortable and nice. The pool was fine for our purposes but a ...
Pros: Security, Secluded, Beautiful, Beach was very nice and excellent service. Cons: Indoor pool and spa area badly in need of repair.
I was extremely pleased with my stay at The Crown Plaza in Hilton Head. I hadn't stayed at a The Crown Plaza previously and wasn't sure what I would find. I drove from Ohio to meet my son there, who was stationed at Ft Stewart, GA. We wanted to spend a ...
Pros: Room was spacious, food was good; service is good, clean. Cons: View of roofs from room, hidden fees,
The check in process was the first hint that they operate out of fear. I did not get the room I had reserved. They we a little short with me and explained that according to "their policy", they did not guarantee the room that I had reserved. After that they had me sign the registration form saying that we would have to pay the room rate if we decided to leave early and not give 48 hours notice. The view from our room was of the roof of the resort, and I dare say that at least one-third of the rooms would have this view. The water pressure in the bathroom was constantly being varied, increasing and decreasing. I really thought that for the location and the service, that this resort was considerably overpriced compared to many others. I would not stay at this resort again!
Crown Plaza Hilton Head hidden fees by walkinthewoods ,Mar 08 '05
Pros: Clean, beautiful beach, lovely large room. Cons: Hidden fees, styrofoam for coffee or tea.
Booked a room at the Crown Plaza on Hilton Head. They gave us a very reasonable rate, then told us of a "special offer" ($9.00) they had going on. It included lots of things like a newspaper in the morning, free coffee and tea (in styrofoam) gym access etc. We said we were not interested in the "special offer" for $9.00/night, afterall, the hotel is on a beautiful beach, so why would we be, but were told they can't take it off the bill. Also they charge an extra $.50 if you don't look at your bill for the newspaper (again). We were there for 4 nights and ended up spending $40. I contacted customer service at the chain headquarters, but was told it could not be removed from my bill. We overheard other clients YELLING in the lobby at the desk person. It was a nice hotel and clean, but beware of hidden charges.
