Pros: Heavy duty with every possible needed attachment. Big. Cons: Expensive
When I got my first apartment, my dad (who does not cook) went out and bought me a food processor. The model he bought was a no-name, light-weight fiasco that did not actually have a bowl, but rather a shoot that sprayed the shreds and slices into a...
Pros: New dough-making capabilities & other features are fantastic Cons: 14 cups may be overkill for most kitchens
This Saturday, I went to two different kitchen stores so that I could get my hands on the new Cuisinart food processor. I brought my friend Azielinski (of epinions) with me to store #2, Williams-Sonoma, and we were in heaven. We interviewed 2 different...
Pros: power, ease of cleanup Cons: this is a lot bigger than what I need
As you may already know from her review,Caroleg and I checked out the new Cuisinart food processor last Saturday. We were able to interview two different Williams Sonoma employees about the Cuisinart 14-cup and the mini prep and then we got to play...
Pros: very heavy duty, supremely easy to clean, large discs mean less likelihood of bloodshed Cons: weighs as much as a Kitchen Aid mixer; feed tube can be a pain to clean
The first food processor I bought in the early eighties was one of the Moulinex La Machines. This was so lousy I was turned off fp's for several years. I bought my DLC-X roughly 10 years ago. It was the largest and most durable model then, and still...
Pros: VERY fast, Large feed tube, Large capacity... Cons: Heavy, short cord...
Wow! what a food processor. Has some negatives about it but the positives out way them. I'll get right to it, no need to bore you you with needless rhetoric. First off, I would like to tell you what I like about this Cuisinart food processor. The ...
Pros: Soft button design easy to use and clean. Cons: None as yet.
When my old Cuisinart DLC-7 Pro, also a 14 cup processor, died, I felt as if I'd lost a friend. Plus, I still had a dozen perfectly good (not to mention expensive) slicing disks that I didn't want to throw away. A query to Cuisinart, however, revealed ...
Pros: Powerful motor, clean design for easy cleanup, terrific versatile kitchen tool. Cons: no speed controls for motor.
I have had the Cuisinart 14 Cup Power Prep Plus Food Processor DLC-2014 for over a year now. No point in writing an opinion after using an item only once or twice. It is a wonderful unit with a powerful motor. I use it to prepare bread dough, at times...
I purchased my DLC-X in January, 1983, and ever since, it has been the only machine I use to knead dough. It is faster and more thorough than even my Kenwood Major mixer. The dough mixing technique allows you to see when you've just added enough liquids...
Versatility... the strongest feature of Cuisinart! by sharonanne2 ,Sep 19 '05
Pros: It's easy-clean computerized touch pad and improved
feed-tube assembly. Cons: None really, except (same sized) Custom Pro model's better value price.
This Cuisinart Food Processor is by far the most versatile kitchen appliance you can own. You can knead 1 or 2 loaves (of 6 cups white bread flour*) to perfection, in just 40 seconds, in this machine.
*Wheat flour is twice as "DENSE" as white flour, so cut your wheat flour recipes in half (in any food processor). Even still the dough cycle handily kneads heavy whole wheat dough (up to 3 1/2 cups).
Versatility is the strongest feature of a Cuisinart! Make homemade pasta, along with all the sauces... Make tender pie crusts, to rival a pastry chef's... Quick-mix a meatloaf... or grind meat for egg rolls... Buy cheese in bulk and shred your own in seconds, for much less money... Make a Cole Slaw salad, in less time it takes to eat it... Slice foods as hard as carrots... and as fragile as strawberries... with the same blade. Easily mince as little as just one garlic clove... or lots of onions all at once...
I wouldn't choose any other brand of food processor, over a Cuisinart!
Pros: Versatile, great at its job, safe, sturdy, trendy Cons: Heavy
I love this processor. It is incredibly durable, very versatile, and looks great in any kitchen. I love the fact that there aren't a million different and useless buttons, but only four truly functional ones. The different blades are easy to attach and very safe to use. I've used it for jobs big and small and there's only one challenge it didn't live up to: very thick bread dough. However it is not intended for that purpose, I was simply experimenting. I was impressed that even though it couldn't handle the job it held its own and didn't break as I was afraid it would once I saw it struggling. The slices and gratings are even and can be easily regulated to your liking.
It is rather heavy and difficult to move on a countertop, but that only makes it more sturdy and that added stability makes it feel even safer (and more powerful!).
Pros: I use my cuisnart foodprocessor daily. Cons: Mine broke when making bread dough. I like the old design better.
I own 5 cuisinart food processors, and my mom is still using my first cuisinart food processor, over 30 years old. I use my cuisinart at home almost every day. I bought 2 of the dlc-2014, one for a summer cabin. I have only used the cabin food processor about 40 times. When I was making bread dough, a recipe I have used many times, the motor jammed. I let it cool but the Cuisinart motor would never turn again. I was surprised but I called Cuisinart and mailed it in for repair, thinking that it would still be under warranty. This cuisinart is only 2 years old. Cuisinart replied that the repair would be $161.00. I just threw the broken cuisinart away, and bought a different model based on the older square design. We are remodeling our kitchen so I haven't used the 2nd dlc-2014 much this year. I am not sure I would buy a dlc-2014 again, I would buy the older square design first.
Pros: Powerful, quiet, and very well built! Cons: Expensive but you get what you pay for!
I've owned a few food processors in my 23 years of life and let me say this one is by far the best! The 20 cups the work bowl can hold is almost a must. I currently have my cuisinart and a KitchenAid 11cup food processor. While the kitchenaid is a nice unit I found myself needing a bigger machine.......so hence the cuisinart. Machine is well built and has lots of power. If you do some serious cooking then you will find that this machine will help you in almost every way. While it is on the more expensive side of the home machine market I would have to say it is worth every penny. My only problem with it is that Cuisinart is dragging its feet with coming out with a couple attachments like a flat lid for the work bowl(trust me guys if we will spend around $800 for a food processor chances are we will buy attachments too!). So if your in the market I would have to say this is the one by far!
