People that make their living with tools, love DeWalt.

by keithlarsen , Mar 06 '07
Pros: Power, quality, versitility
Cons: price
Growing up on a farm, it seems I have always known the value of a good tool. For every Christmas or birthday when my friends got toys, I got tools. It seems I have never really grown out of this tool fetish; the only thing that has changed is the cost ...

Works as well as it is Yellow

by jblumb1 , Jul 20 '05
Pros: Goes like there's money in it, great battery life, case
Cons: It costs some money, replacement batteries are expensive too.
I received this kit as a gift for my birthday last year. I've been doing a ton of work around my new house, bigtime renovations & such, but to tell you the truth it was a tool I never knew I needed. I will never go back to a corded drill again, unless ...

I absolutely LOVE this drill kit. I am not a professional builder, but I engage in lots of home repairs and the occasional construction project. After spending several weeks of my summer in construction on our new church building, this tool was ...

by pblarry49 , Feb 05 '05
Pros: Powerful, 2 speeds, 2 batteries, good balance, rugged
Cons: a bit on the heavy side
One of my sons gave me this drill about two years ago as a birthday present. The tool has performed flawlessly around our house here in central Florida. This past year(2004) we saw our fair share of bad weather, and you can be sure the home owners best ...

DEWALT
by choppingboard ,Apr 17 '06
Pros: Ergonomically designed and high reliability.
Cons: none
I bought a DEWALT battery drill because in my opinion DEWALT is the most reliable and the best build quality available. It has been very efficient at every task I have attempted with it in my workplace. I renovate houses so as you can imagine my DEWALT drill is in constant use all day and I have found it to last longer than other makes of battery drill that I have owned in the past. The batteries are fast to charge in about 2 hours and will easily last 2 days under constant use. The DEWALT drill is light enough to be handled with ease in tight and awkward spaces and ergonomically designed to make comfortable to use all day without fatigue.

Great cordless drill
by urbanweasel ,May 10 '05
Pros: long lasting battery pack and very durable
Cons: could use a lower torque setting for small screws
This is the best cordless drill I have owned
its battery pack have great staying power and its durable
I left it overnight in the goat pen and they all nibbled on it
when I went to use it again I remembered I left it building the goat house. The drill was virtually unharmed from the goat test.

A true workhorse
by richro1965 ,Feb 13 '07
Pros: Durable construction, long battery life
Cons: None that I can think of
I purchased my DeWalt 14.4 cordless drill several years ago as a factory reconditioned item. This drill has been used extensively and has sat out in a cold workshop through a number of long winters. Still, the batteries take a full charge and the drill performs just as well as the day I bought it.

I have owned many different brands of cordless drills in my lifetime and my DeWalt drill ranks at the top.

What a piece of Crap! (Problem resolved)
by toncha ,Nov 27 '05
Pros: NOTHING!!
Cons: Poor product, and No service or Support!
The clutch has never worked on this drill. I bought it less than a year ago, and 3 months ago, I realized the clutch doesn't work when - at the lowest torque setting - it drove the head off of a 3 inch drywall screw going into solid wood. This was the first time i used it for any heavy duty work, but it always drove too hard, and wouldn't engage the clutch, so i suspect it was manufactured this way.

It has been sitting at a "DeWalt Factory Service Center" for 3 months now, and everytime I call them, they don't even understand what is wrong with the drill. So I spent the money, and have nothing.

I will never buy a Dewalt product again!

*****10/17/06 Follow-up.*****

I contacted the local Dewalt regional office, and spoke to Ron, the regional Service manager. This is the Dewalt manufacturer's service office, and not a "factory authorized" repair center. Ron took care of me, replaced the drill with a new one, no questions asked. Now I have a drill with a clutch Feature that works, I am happy with the drill. I amended my ratings to reflect the change. Thanks Ron!
