Pros: Well, heck, it's a TWELVE string. Seriously, it sounds rich. And it's very affordable. Cons: Hard to pick, takes longer to tune. Some might consider it a little large.
It's true. People do double takes when they see a 12 string guitar, and speak in hushed tones. When it's a chick playing it, they're even more amazed. These dreadnoughts are kind of big. But you can't beat the rich sound. It really does sound ...

Pros: Great smooth sounding acoustic which plugs in and rates highly in its price level.
Cons: for 400 dollars there are no relative cons.
The Fender DG 16 12 is a great guitar in its price range. For 400 dollars it can compare with acoustic guitars priced around 700. A great full and smooth sounding acoustic it still has the ability to plug in, equipped with volume and tone controls....

Pros: 12 string sound for a very good price. Cons: Tone a little bright
Music stores will sell you guitars for twice the price and they won't sound as good or play as well. They won't offer you this guitar. Either they don't know Fender is making good accoustics or they don't make enough on them.
If you've ever...

Killer 12 string for the $$$
by gastringbender ,Sep 06 '05
Pros: easy to play. wide neck. beautiful gloss black finish. Sounds great. famous Fender name! Cons: laminated top, cheap looking silver hardware, gold would look much better on a black guitar.
I was just bein' a "looky-loo" at a local music store when I spotted a used Fender DG-16-12, and the price tag was $99.99!! I picked it up and played it and was very impressed with the sound from a foreign-built acoustic with laminated top & sides. I was floored by the easy playability and in love with the beee-ay-yutiful glossy black finish, Johnny Cash would love this guitar. The Low end wasn't as powerful as I'd like, but hey, it ain't a solid top. the mids and highs are very nice. I looked for any defects and flaws and found none other than the peg holes in the bridge looked a little worn.I looked closer and saw that someone had installed a pickup in it. I plugged into and acoustic guitar amp, played 3 chords and yelled "SOLD!!" It sounded awsome plugged in.I brought it home and have been a happy camper ever since. Check your stores and ads for a used one of these baby's, because if your a used gear junky like me, and the resale value is as low as what this buy lead me to believe, this is your 12 string.
