Pros: the cats drink more water
Cons: no filter in front of pump

We all know that our pets need to drink a lot of water to remain healthy. I bought this because I thought it would encourage the cats to drink more. It does!
There is one design flaw that I can't believe the designers missed. There is no filter in front of the pump which allows food and hair to clog it up. The charcoal filter seems to work great, but why didn't they put it in front of the pump? I experimented a bit and ended up wrapping a piece of nylon panty hose around the pump and this has kept it from getting clogged. It makes for easier clean-up too. I've been using the Petmate for 6 years and have had no trouble with it since I covered the pump.

Pros: Keep the water cold........................................
Cons: You can't clean out all of the bacteria, areas to small to clean.

This was a gift bought by my mother for our cat. At first I thought it was a great product until it came time to clean it.
