Pros: Intuitive menus, bright easy to read screen, very detailed maps, small and easy to mount. Cons: Sometimes questionable routing, short battery life, multiple and possibly confusing software required for advanced features.
As a die hard user of traditional maps (and more recently, Google Maps on my iPhone) I have reluctantly held back from the temptation to buy an automotive based GPS system. However, with a 7000 mile cross-country (and back) RV vacation planned for ...
Pros: Relatively inexpensive, portable, simple to use Cons: Thieves like to steal it, no quick way to escape submenus
INTRODUCTION. Ive always wanted to buy a GPS navigation system for my car since the device became popular a few years ago. I knew the price was steadily declining, as most of electronics tend to do the first couple of years, and I had to guess at ...
Pros: Small, light, easy to use interface, accurate, flexible. Cons: Initial lock-on needs to be done standing still, more turn warning time.
I purchased this GPS after moving to a new city, to help me navigate around until I learned where everything is located. The Nuvi250 is a small unit, fitting easily in one hand. It has only 1 sliding button, that turns the unit on or can put it into ...
Pros: Stylish, Sleek, and Simple. Both are well thought out units. Cons: Comparatively Expensive. No carrying case.
Differences and Similarities Externally, the Garmin 250W, and the 200W, appear to be identical, and there is a good reason for this. It's because they are. They have the same 4.3" 480x272pixel widescreen display, they have the same external ...
Pros: Simplicity of use. Cons: Battery life is just OK, chord makes this a non issue
Having used Garmin products in rental cars, I was fairly familiar and comfortable using GPS. I knew that the GPS beat the heck out of Mapquest, guessing or stopping to ask for diretions. The TomTom v. Garmin debate is a legit one and I found myself ...
Pros: Great unit - love it! Cons: None worth mentioning.
I have now had this unit for 4 months and it has bailed me out MANY times. It is really uncanny how accurate it is. On occasion you will think "no way, I shouldn't be turning here" so you don't only to find that the unit WAS right. The real beauty ...
Pros: finding stores and restaurants Cons: will get you lost.
We purchased this GPS to use with our motor home. Getting lost in a vehicle that is 30 feet long is frightening. So we looked at reviews on the internet and then went shopping. We found a good price on this Garmin GPS at Best Buy. We opened it ...
Pros: Recommended. Easy to use, fast, accurate. I don't miss the text to speech. Cons: Battery is a little weak - only about 4 hours. Takes a minute to sync.
The other reviewers did a great job and I pretty much agree with their comments. I was impressed with its accuracy and speed. It really is a functional device. It takes the guesswork out of trying to find a Starbucks in a new area. I like that.
Overall, I purchased this device because I was sick of printing out MapQuest directions, trying to read them as I drove, pulling out my reading glasses and all that. The interface is nice and simple. I would prefer an option to go back to the beginning rather than back out of tiered menus. However, that's not really a big deal.
Battery life is a bit weak. Maybe 4 hours. I also think the charger cord is longer and less flexible than I would like. Charges fine off my laptop though.
Pros: fair price, Unsurpassed quality, widescreen Cons: Does not say the streets name, no bluetooth
Absolutely fabulous! Accurate, fast response when going a different way than the one suggested, extremely easy to use, I didnt even need the instruction manual! Fair price and I dont work for Garmin! Im a Paramedic!!! In my line of work, getting there is what count. A lot of my colleagues bought different type of model and after a while we had a consensus Garmin Nüvi 250W is our choice, for the above reason. You wont regret your choice.
Pros: It is portable, can be stuffed into glove box, so thieves can't see it. Cons: NONE so far, have used it 4 times and have had no major problem.
WE had wanted a GPS for the car, especiallya after friends kept talking them up. WE bought this one, like it, Had a problem at first, did not have it secured on dash, it slipped, the screen was fine, but the navigation turned on to have us get off at wrong exit. Knowing the correct exit number, i shut it off, and what do you know, it had saved our location and went right back to whre it was before slipping. great item, , inexpensive also.

Pros: Holds lots of favorites and easy to set. Cons: None
I love mine. The 4.3" screen is great. Easy to use. The screen with the compass direction and large speedometer reading is great. Another nice feature is the instant "next turn" audible and video diplay. The easy to read expected arrival time is good.
Bought mine re-furbished and it has performed perfectly now for 4 months.
