Pros: Excellent duplex printing, web-based admin software, etc. Cons: Duplexer blocks the alternate paper path. No infrared capability.
I purchased the printer to create B&W test pages for my church's 110th anniversary journal, knowing that I would have great future use for the equipment in my business. The 5100 DTN did the journal project perfectly, by printing my work on 11 x 17 inch...

Pros: Fast, reliable, lots of printing options to choose from. Control from desktop. Cons: I can't take this printer home!

Over priced HP product. Limited user options
by afaa ,Mar 03 '05
Pros: Crisp clear printing. Good watermark printing options Cons: Unreliable, no user updatable fonts, overpriced, terrible support.
I bought 3 of these for my company to print drawings and invoices. 1 of broke the first month. The 3 year maintenance support reuqires a $60 charge for onsite visit. The bad part is I found out that these printers can't print barcode. I'll have to order a memory stick from HP with loaded fonts for a killing price. Even worse part is we can't update the printer memory ourselves with the fonts we want. What's up with that? Even the cheap $500 Lexmark printers allow me to do it.
These printers also inconsistently fail to print and require a complete reset before they print again. I later bought another 5 Lexmark W820 for the same purpose (11x17 printing) and been happy with those for over a year now, and I'll keep buying Lexmarks.
HP used to be the king of printers, what happened HP?
