Pros: Great place to kick back, Kilauea Volcano, Friendly people. Cons: Too laid back, lack of good shopping, lack of fine hotels, RAIN, RAIN, RAIN.

Pros: Waterfalls, National Historic Site B&B, great food, atmosphere, Farmer's Market Cons: Couldn't stay longer!

The Hamakua Coast north of Hilo is the most beautiful place I have seen

Pros: breathtakingly beautiful Cons: may rain
The Hamakua Coast Road that runs from Hilo to Waimea on the east side of the island is spectacular. You can see waterfalls and valleys from the highway. There are numerous "look out" places along the highway to stop and take pictures.
