Hitachi DZ-MV270A DVD Camcorder

Pros: NO TAPE, Easy to use, durability, fast PC connection, nice picture quality
Cons: Battery life, a little bit heavy

1. Finding a new cam:

I used the 8mm Video camera from Sharp for 4 years.
After heavy use from the trip to Europe, the LCD panel
occurred to have the problem which is turned off as
its own mind to white shower.

Do NOT purchase Hitachi digital camcorders. The software that comes with the camera is only for stills (this is a movie camera right?). You have to purchase extra software to make the camera compatible with your computer, and it doesn’t work. The software (Sonic) is crap. The camera itself is very slow and extremely complex to work, much too complicated for simple home video use. The support for the camera and the software both, is useless. I have had several people trying to get this stuff to work, including one friend who works on all kinds of software programs for a living. I have spent a total of about two weeks of my time over the last year talking to the support personal, and trying to get it to work, and and am getting nowhere. Just beware.

Poor recording in bad lighting. Needs mounted flash light as a mandatory accessory when shooting in bad light conditions.

The cost to take advantage of everything this camcorder is a little high. But once you,ve made a few discs using the optional software, you'll never want to go back to tape cams again. In-camera video editing comes in handy alot and is easier than youd expect. Take almost 2000 pictures on 1 ram disc! Wow!

I had a camcorder that records to tape for about 6 years now and have noticed that the tapes have already started to degrade. decided to get one that wrote right to dvd this time to eliminate that problem since we just had our first child!

i just buy the dz-mv270a great camcorder with all technology of dvd....it's a verry good product of hitachi...even ahead of this time if you compare to the other brand of camescope with the old tape technology...the only thing that hitachi miss it's a standars monted flashlight (for no need of optional flashlight to buy)
