Pros:Produces more than adequate heat; several modes of operation; good safety features; inexpensive. Cons:Thermometer not calibrated properly; hard to read display; no carry handles; no fan.
I purchased the Honeywell HZ519 Baseboard Heater to replace a DeLonghi heater which had good design, but did not heat very well. So it appears that the trade off was complementary, but at least I now get better heating capability, which is the primary ...
Pros: completely silent, separate up/down keys. Cons: Poor heating, display, no handles, inaccurate thermometer.
This was my last attempt to find a good heater. I was sold on the baseboard heater design after a very effective unit from Lasko, which regrettably made way too much noise and constantly woke me up. I was worried that this Honeywell might have the same ...
Pros: Heats a small to medium room well and fast enough, digital control Cons: Is somewhat noisy for a baseboard heater
I bought a couple of these when they were on sale, for 25$, at home depot last year. We use them to heat the bedrooms at night when the rest of the house is no longer heated. First of all, the heater does a pretty decent job in a not too large room. ...
Pros: A inexpensive heater the cheap and easy to operate. Cons: None
A few years ago I purchase a Honeywell heater but it failed to work this year and I returned it to Home Depot. They cheerfully replaced the heater with the new Baseboard heater. I'm using this heater in a fairly drafty bedroom and it does a really ...
I purchased this heater from Home Depot in the early part of 2005. However, I didn't pay quite as much as the two previous reviewers mentioned, for whatever reason. It is used in a den sized room that was converted into a bedroom and it has worked wonders! I have the version that has the sticker on the mesh coil to let you know when it's hot. I keep the thermostat set to 75 but I usually turn it down two degrees before going to bed because it can sometimes get too stuffy. It works perfectly and I recommend it highly!
HZ519 - Efficient and Quiet by bear13709 ,Dec 02 '05
Pros: Quiet and effective convection-driven complementary heating source Cons: Cannot read info on the LCD when viewing from a larger angle.
I used this baseboard heater as a complimentary heating source in our master bedroom during the snowing winter time. This save us some gas and electric bills while keeping the whole-house heat bump low during the nights. I bought it at the local Home Depot for about $45 a year ago. It has thermostate and timer that allows you set the temperature at 1 degree(F or C)increment and duration at one-hour increment(up to 10 hours). You can use either one or both functions together. Recently, I found out at Home Depot that the newer version of HZ519 even has an indicator on the meshes telling you whether it is hot or cold. This is a nice improvement especially when you have babies or younger kids at home, since you won't see anything different no matter it is hot or cold. The LED light is only telling you whether the power is on or off. The LCD screen that showing the setting is hard to read from a larger angle (say 30 degrees). It will be a big improvement if replacing with a backlit LCD screen . But overall I am happy with the heater.
This purchase was a failed experience by coldadnight ,Oct 01 '06
Pros: It was easy to operate. Cons: It died within six weeks and Home Depot refused to deal with the problem.
I bought this small heater from Home Depot in Feb 06 and used it as an extra heater to cut down expenses and keep the chill off the room during the evening hours. I paid $45. for it.
