Pros: Great picture, sound is very decent for its size. Cons: Turning the screen from stand is a chore.
I am on my second set. First set started to throw vertical green lines across the screen every once in a while, nothing major but called Customer Service and they said it should not be doing that and to exchange it at Wal Mart. I was within my 90 days ...
Pros: Price, clarity, lightweight, easily accessable back panel, comes with several cables Cons: Slow remote, don't like widescreen for gaming (not the TV's fault), factory coax input poor
Bought at my local Wall-crap for the unbelievable price of $299. Add on the 2-year service plan (which I'll probably need, after reading the reviews), and it only ran me $340 out the door. PS2, PS3 (especially with HDMI), DVDs all look fantastic. I can't ...
Pros: A really great picture and good sound quality. The price can't be beat. Cons: Confusing users guide; no website contact info; no remote code or apparnt tech support.
I bought my ILO TV from my local "Not so Super Wal-Marts" on 12/10/05. They were out of stock and it took some effort to find someone willing and able to help determine incoming availability or to locate one. Because the picture of the one display ...
Pros: Made good on their warranty (with receipt). Picture, weight, packaged well. Cons: Chintzy speakers. Mediocre life span. Certain COMPOSITE signals (like PS2) not supported?!
Xbox 360, PS3, Game Cube, Wii... all work. PS2 Component shows "no supported signal" ... it will work if a movie begins in the PS2 and show the movie fine (but the TV still reports there is no signal and attempts to shut off after so many minutes when ...
Pros: Not one pro at all. Cons: Do not waste your time, Do not buy ILO products
Do not take the time to even consider the ILO HDTV as an option for your entertainment pleasure. TV is still working fine, and as others before there is no Remote Control code for Direct TV. But something that no one else has mentioned is how do you ...
Pros: It worked for 100 days. Picture was ok. Price was great. Cons: Changes channels very slowly. Mine quit after 3 months. Customer service is close to non-existant.
I'm currently on hold with the maker of this TV (Initial Technology). The TV failed to power on. This was conveniently only a few days beyond Wal-Marts 90 day warranty. I called ILO and they said that they have a known problem with the power packs so ...
does display 1080i and 720p by evocator ,Feb 02 '06
Pros: picture quality, price, durability Cons: remote code not for universal remotes must use tvs remote
We have charter hdtv receiver.use dvi connection which is all digital connection.way better than component in quality, tried both.component is an analog picture.Picture quality is one of best in its size if not best seen with dvi.1080i does work fine but it is inherently different than 720p. but will display 1080i at 1920 x 1080 and 720p at 1280x720
Pros: excellent resolution, quality construction Cons: none yet
bought ilo 26in lcd hdtv september 27, 2005 for $753 at walmart in atlanta georgia. i have never heard of company but display in store had a excellent picture. out of the box and turned on with comcast cable input and sanyo dvd player hookup, no problems picture is superb with dvd player and cable (analog only). comcast will hookup my high def in 10 days, and i'll up date this box. by the way, the set is made in china. workmanship is excellent and i am, so far, VERY pleased!
The best deal this year for a large screen HDTV monitor. by joevegas ,Dec 20 '05
Pros: cheap price, high quality, adjustable sound and pixel clock. Cons: speakers weak and have no bass, would like to set higher than 1280x768.(more desktop).
Writing this on my new ILO 26 inch. The clarity and colors are vibrant and clear. I had to adjust the pixel clock upon install, after doing so the text is clear with little blurring. i thought with a larger size and cheap price i would see a great loss in pixel quality compared to my comparably priced 19 inch. the clarity and vibrance is better! i purchased the extended warranty given by walmart to insure i have a quality monitor. ILo is a new name and i dont know their durability.
DVDs look sharp and color is accurate.
The built in speakers however are weak and have no bass. im using my surround anyway so it doesnt bother me. speakers are more than enough for surfing and clip viewing.
refresh rate for gaming is great im running battlefield 2 on a geforce 6800 gt oc.
this is a great monitor and should be picked up at this incredibly low price!
ilo 26" HDTV, Xbox 360 approved by aztecmc ,Aug 30 '06
Pros: Cheap HDTV! Many inputs, Free HD channels, superior Video Game graphics, sleep mode, cool menu's Cons: Annoying speakers, but I use surround mostly.
This TV displayed all of my basic cable channels in HD for free, though a few channels are barely visible, but that was cool. I tried Xbox, Xbox 360 and both looked true Hi-Def. Before, I played Xbox through VGA via PC monitor, which looked cool, but this TV obliterates VGA. I never knew Oblivion&Call of Duty 2 had sand/rock textures! DVD's via Xbox 360 were kinda fuzzy cuz the TV downconverts them to 480p and it's a 720p TV, but they are still enjoyable.
This TV doesn't seem 'pixely' but still is an LCD, so the blacks will be backlit. This TV is the Cheapest HDTV of this caliber and weighs nothing. I haven't tried the HDMI, but I will soon.
Pros: great picture, easy to use, stylish Cons: none yet
I got this at wal mart in waynesboro mississippi, and was impressed right out of the box. Set up is a breeze, and picture quality is excellent. I just hooked up a hd tuner and was blown away. I have since checked comparable lcd's at best buy and other electronic stores, and found ILO to be the equal if not better of any i have seen. For those wondering, ILO is a wal mart in house brand manufactured by the same companies that make lcd screens for the well known brands.
Pros: Pic is great, clarity is nice. Cons: 720p max, if you want 1080p or i, you better get something else.
I have been checking all over the place for something that would tell me what resolution this would display and the max is 720p. So therefore if you have 1080i you can forget displaying in that resolution.
Pros: Great price for my money! Cons: No codes for my comcast cable service.
Overall, I have enjoyed mine for about a year and a half. I haven't had any problems at all. Let me say a prayer now, after reading all the other reviews. I also purchased the two year extended warranty. So, hopefully I'm covered. If mine goes bad, I will just get another brand name.
Pros: cheap, good picture, clarity, true hdtv experience, vga out , dvi Cons: no earphone jacks, no bass on speakers, remote control problems
i bought this tv and am happy with it so far. It does show up in 1080i but not 1080p which is ok for hdtv feed, picture is clear and crisp and the only question is durability im also using it as my pc monitor using vga cable but am not satisfied with the picture (ghosting) might have been my cheap vga cable so im using dvi hopefully next week, speakers are ok no bass etc. any way am using my pc speaker for this. no earphone jacks or audio out. But all in all am happy with the purchase for the price ill take all this minor flaws. and did i say that i cant find any remote control codes for this tv
No Remote Code for Direct TV Satellite by daveinwagener ,Aug 09 '06
Pros: Good picture - sharp - clear Cons: Speaker have "tinny" sound
A real pain - no remote code for ilo - one must be a "two-fisted" television viewer. But then - maybe Direct TV Satellite should get with the program and develop a code. If you have uncovered a workable code - please post it here in the reviews section. Otherwise, set is great so far!
Pros: Low cost Cons: Manual is not good, sound level will not go very high.
The user manual is not explicit about the type of cables required for the DVI connection. The correct DVI socket for this TV is DVI-D. DVI-I connectors will not work. When I tried to connect my computer video output to this TV with the S-Video from my ATI all-in-wonder graphics card, the TV detected the computer only on startup but then lost the signal when Windows booted up. I expected this to be plug and play but it is not. I have still not succeeded in getting my computer connected and working. The TV remote volume control reacts too slowly, the remote is not very responsive, Changing video mode could be more efficient by toggling between the modes with a single button.
Pros: Good picture and sound until the tv died. Good looking TV Cons: Junk.Sould have checked out the online reviews for the ILO brand.
This is a Wal-Mart brand made by @ 4 manufacturers. My 26 inch died within a year. You had to turn it on and off and on to get it to work, then the motherboard fried and it is stuck on one channel. This is reported to be a common problem on all their TV's. The TV buttons and remote no longer work. I googled ilo 26 repairs and this is a common problem. Its almost impossible to get repaired or to even find out who made it. Please don't by ANY ILO products as they are junk.
There is no remote control code for this TV for DirecTV satellite. It does not come with a VGA cable to use it as a PC monitor and if you use the S-video instead, there are no controls for the display settings and the sound is royally messed up (when you can finally figure out how to get it). There is no customer service....at least none listed in the documentation that comes with it....not even a name or number for the manufacturer. There are better products out there for the money. Searching the Internet for any helpful info on this product produces nothing. Glad I got this as a gift and didn't spend my own money on it!
Pros: Great Picture. Cons: Died 6 mo's after I purchased from WalMart.
Well this was a traumatic learning experience for me. I am a single mom who thought buying this inexpensive TV would be saving my bank account. I barely live from payday to payday. Six months later the darn thing quit working. I thought I would be saved by the warranty, until I read it. Only the parts are covered for a year. Yes folks, it is true that the labor is not covered after 90 days. I will be reading the warranties from now on before buying something that appears to be cheap. I saved my extra cash for 6 mo's to buy this tv and now regret my decision to buy ILO. I should have known that you get what you pay for.
JUST SAY NO TO ILO.
Couldn't be more DISAPPOINTED... by dphow ,Jun 09 '06
Pros: Picture is good but not worth having for under a year. Cons: Not functional...More like DYSfunctional!
Yes this has a nice enough picture for the price, but if that picture lasts less than a year then you are in for a big surprise when you realize your warranty (labor) is only good for 90 days. Labor is where these service centers make their money.
Needless to say I will not be buying another one in the near future. Toshiba here I come!!!
Pros: Great picture. I loved the set and the price. Cons: Worked for 11 months and then malfunctioned.
I purchased this unit from WalMart at a great price. Set functioned for 11 months and then would not power on. Contacted CTC Repair Services for guidance since set remained in warranty. They asked that I ship the unit to them (at my own expense)and it would be repaired and returned within two months. It has now been four months, and after numerous inquiries, CTC Customer Service can acknowledge receipt of the unit, but can't tell me the repair status, or even identify its location. It appears as if I owe WalMart the price balance of the TV, have a useless warranty from the ILO manufacturer, and that my property is lying in the bowels of CTC Repair Services collecting dust. I will never purchase a major item from WalMart in future, and now it seems I will also have to see an attorney for satisfaction. What a terrible experience.
first one broke in 30 days secound one broke in 7 months
same problem each time the buttons on the tv or the remote do not respond witch is grate if you are just gonna use one channel grrrrahhhhh I hate this tv.
Pros: Looks nice, that's about it. Cons: Speakers weak, picture not so great, weak construction.
I was looking forward to this product after reading the reviews but was very disappointed. The picture was OK but one of the speakers just hummed. The connection to the base also seemed a little weak. I paid $696.00 for this item, all I can say is "I'm glad I kept my receipt!", because it went right back to Walmart.
Pros: Looks nice - until it breaks! Cons: Poor quality. Poor customer service. NO HELP AVAILABLE!!!
My 32in. iLO LCD HDTV stopped working exactly 2 days after the 90 day warranty expired! Hey what can I say -- the picture looks good. That is until the TV stops working! This company provides NO contact info & NO customer support. Very disappointed!
I have been in the commercial audio/video industry for the past ten years so I know what I am talking about. This product,in my opinion, is built of very poor quality components that are not built to be reliable for very long, that's what makes them cheap. That's why I can no longer display my computer after owning this piece of junk 6 months.
Pros: Great price for flat screen TV, or so I thought. Cons: Piece of junk that doesn't even last a year!!
I bought 2 of these TVs last Christmas 2005. One for my daughter's bedroom and one for my bedroom. They only got a couple of hours use a night, if even that. My daughter's just stopped turning on in 6 months and mine, the color went on it in 8 months. What a waste of $$$$!!!! The company is useless and there's nothing they will do about it.
Pros: Not a one. Cons: Read my review,I'm not rewriting it here.
I purchased this today at Wal-Mart and it's back at the store now. I only wish I would have read the reviews prior to purchasing it but was a spur of the moment purchase (they had the floor model marked down) and it was not hooked up. At least they told me it was the floor model. I got it home and other then the blue screen of death coming on the monitor it was useless. None of the controls on the remote or the unit itself would work other then the power button. Either way its my last time with ilo. I'll spend a little more next time and get a quality set. The old adage you get what you pay for really hit home on this one.
DIRECT TV SATELLITE CODE FOUND by capnkj2 ,Dec 04 '06
Pros: Picture is okay, cheap price. Nice to look at? Cons: Channel changing takes too long.
Breaks easily.
Indeed, this tv seems to have its share of problems--it takes like 20 seconds to change channels. However, and I'm not sure if this is the same code for ALL ILO televisions, I have found the remote control code that powers on/off the t.v and changes the volume. It's 221. Hope that helps and good luck with your piece of crap t.v.
Pros: It had a beautiful picture for 8 months and gave no problems. Cons: I emailed the company with no response back, so they don't back their product.
I bought our ilo LCD TV at Walmart because of the good deal. It was fine for 8 months, then the sound started getting out of sync, now the power won't come on and only the red standby button comes on. It essentially no longer works and the company hasn't responded back to my email. I've never had a TV (or company) do that before I wished I had check out ilo TV reviews first.
Pros: IT WAS GOOD WHILE IT WORKED.... Cons: I CAN'T REPAIR IT !!!!
BOUGHT THIS TV IN WAL-MART, THOUGHT WAS GOOD PRICE, 4 MONTHS LATER WOULD NOT TURN ON.....NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT IT. LOCAL TV REPAIR SHOPS SAID THIS BRAND "ILO" DOES NOT PRODUCE REPAIR PARTS... $700 JUNK ! !
Do Not Waste your money by catchersmom ,Sep 07 '06
Pros: Good Picture, easy set up Cons: About a year is all you will get out off this product
I saved for over a year to buy this TV and I have had it just over a year, and just like the other in these articles it went out, I cannot afford another TV and I wished I had found this website before I bought this one, yes I too bought it at Wal-mart and I will never buy another Ilo item , please do not waste your hard earned money as I did. Post Script no one here in Wichita will work on them, they all tell me they are a waist of their time and not to spend anymore money on this product or purchase another one.
ilo 26 lCD TV- is very low on my list by trepanier ,Apr 10 '07
Pros: I didn't get a chance to experience any.. Cons: Power On-Goofy, Remote(univ. or orig- doesn't work)
I purchased the Ilo 26 HDTV LCD today at Walmart. Hung it up with a wall mount and all. Things were going good. After installing it, I tried to turn it on nothing happened. If I tried to turn the channel, then it turned on. Shortly after, I Could not get my Dish remote to work on it. Come to find out, I couldn't get the original TV remote to work on it either. What a waste of time all afternoon with this thing. I now see from reading at this site that this is a common problem. I guess I'm lucky; I got the floor model (last one). Why do I say that. Well because It's life span seems to fall within 3-8 months -according to other posts from this site. I'm lucky it failed right away instead of lasting until the return policy expired. IT IS GOING BACK TO WALMART TOMORROW. I hope tomorrow is a better day. I also hope that you still can return yours -- go find that receipt and hope it's within 90 days.
Pros: Looks good. Cons: BAD durability (8 mo's then KA-POOT)!
I found this Ilo 26" LCD TV to be POOR when it comes to durability because mine only lasted 8 mo's before it wouldn't power on. There is a stand-by light that used to be solid red and even it went out (Yes it is still plugged into a safety circuit power strip. I never take the chance with lightening or power surges. I value my computers and televisions. I have tried another working electrical outlet therefore I know that my ILO TV that went bad. I wish the warranty would have been for a year but it only lasts for 90 days which is the same warranty as Walmart, where I purchased it. I do not feel like buying this TV every 8 mo's because ILO doesn't stand behind it's own products with a better warranty. Therefore my next purchase will be from a reputable mfg company such as MAGNAVOX, JVC, SHARP, Samsung ETC....They have always been more durable than ILO!!! (I have had a Samsung LCD TV in my kitchen for 1.5 years and it's still tickin'.)
