One word can sum up this set of speakers....WOW. These are the cleanest, clearest, smoothest pair of speakers I have ever listened to, (the Boston 6.5 systems are a close second). I just don't know where to begin here, I have the 6.5 inch woofers...

Having had great success with Infinity component systems in the past, I decided to "upgrade" on my next installation and get the Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 components for the front speakers of my new car. As with any install, the process requires some planning on placement and can sometimes be a chore. For my car, I had to use spacers for the woofers to get them to fit. All in all, I'd say it took me about 3 hours to install the pair and having it perform properly.

Sound: Well, the speakers have some decent midbass and mids but what is glaringly obvious is the overly bright highs. I even have the tweeters at the -4dB setting where I feel the level is appropriate but their is a metallic glaring sound to the highs which to me suggestions the tweeters were crossed over too low. The highs are indeed clear and articulate but they are not smooth like the silk domes in the low brow Infinity 605cs component speakers. Other than the highs, the speakers sound great. Punchy solid midbass with a neutral midrange. As is, I would have to give luke warm marks to the set.

Pros: Clear highs and mids at any volume. Nice imaging.
Cons: Too expensive. Needs a lot more bass.

Unfortunately, there is no one in my area with these speakers on display, so i took a chance and just bought them. I currently have them hooked up to a kicker 350.4 amp and these speakers have nice imaging. The tweeters are a bit bright, but there are 3 dB settings to choose from. I have my tweeters behind my tweeter door covers, so it doesn't make them sound so bright. There is hardly any bass at all even with the settings on the amp and head unit all the way up. this was a thumbs down for me. Also, the side wall of the speaker frame is really wide. If clearance is an issue, you'll have to make a custom speaker mount. Overall, i like how these components sound, but i was expecting more bass output. Lesson learned here is to go out and test different speakers before purchasing them.

Pros: Looks cool
Cons: Difficult install; NO bass; Overpriced for its average performance.

I'm running these at 100w RMS and there's no bass what so ever and the mids are only decent, nothing spectacular. The highs however are nice and clear. For speakers this expensive and with huge magnets, I expected a lot more. I've listened to MBQs that sell for half the price that sound WAY better than these. They were professionally installed 6+ months ago with Dynamat so it isn't a matter of breaking them in or poor installation.

I suggest you listen to them first and then buy something else.
