Love the cabinet-depth size!

by clkspud , Jul 08 '05
Pros: Looks great, good feature set, quiet
Cons: A little small, recorked wine bottles don't stand upright
We purchased the stainless steel version of this refrigerator -- JFC2089HES -- and love it! At $2160 + tax (included delivery and take-away of our old unit), we expected a lot, and we think we got it. Of course, at only 19.8 cubic feet it's not the ...

Dead after 3 years, 4 months
by foleydog ,Mar 03 '08
Pros: Cabinet depth. Look and feel.
Cons: Not a lot of storage space. Door seal bad.
I should have known things weren't going well when I had to set both fridge and freezer on 7 to keep my food from getting spoiled. Last Friday, I woke up and everything was warm in the fridge. Couldn't get Maytag repairman out until Monday. The verdict. The condenser overheated and failed. Fans failed as well. Somehow one caused the other. It will take three to five days to have parts installed, and they are saying this is not covered by warranty.

Jenn-Air French Door Refrigerator
by ecsjr8 ,Jan 23 '06
Pros: Have never found one.
Cons: Read above, don't live it.
New refrigerator in Aug,2005, have hated room(where is it?) Glad I have had an old refrigerator in garage. Jenn air died last night. Thank goodness freezer is still working. I love to cook and find it a problem to keep things in it as there is no space, no room for left overs and after only having it for 5 month's it dies?????????? Really makes me wonder, are American products worth the extra cost? My garage refrigerator only cost $275 and it's 9years old, this one is ONLY 5 MONTHS, and lost a good amount of food. Not happy with refrigerator or room in it will see what dealer says tomorrow, stay tuned for continuing saga.

Don't Buy It!!!
by austinsq ,Sep 25 '07
Pros: Great looking
Cons: Complete cooling failure
This is a great looking refrigerator, but it doesn't work!! We purchased ours in June 2007. The first one was delivered DOA - only the light worked! It was replaced by the same model which died (no cooling at all) 6 weeks later. Jenn-air refused to replace it, saying the 6-week old refrigerator was now USED and the standard warranty doesn't cover replacement, only repair. The repairman said the main control board had been replaced once before it ever left the factory. They replaced the main control panel and display panel but can't promise this intermittent problem won't happen again. Will never purchase Jenn-air, Maytag, Whirlpool, Kitchen-aid, or Amana (all same company) again after this treatment.

So disappointed
by mensch1761 ,Sep 16 '08
Pros: French Doors
Bottom Freezer
Black Glass Surface
Cons: NOISE NOISE NOISE
Counter-depth means smaller fridge

Bought this Jenn-Air black-glass french door, bottom freezer unit for my new house. Loved the french doors, bottom freezer and easy-clean black glass surface. A couple of weeks in, it started clicking and popping. The first repairman said that's the way all refrigerators are these days. Second repairman said that manufacturers changed the cooling solution (freon/oil?) in 1996 and most fridges make a good amount of noise when the compressor kicks on. He stated some companies make their products with more insulation to hide the noise than others. I thought Jenn-Air was toward the higher end of the scale but clearly I was mistaken. The repairman installed noise dampening insulation around the piping to hide the noise but I still hear it - sounds like a woodpecker trying to get out. Note to self: I will never purchase any Jenn-Air or their associated companies products. EVER!
