Pros: Heats evenly, Durable, Ergonomic handles. Cons: Not as easy to clean as Teflon pans. Only comes with 5 lids.
Now that my wife is home with the kids she decided that she is going to learn how to cook. So she insisted on replacing the cheap pots that we were currently using. I completely agreed with her that the pots need to be replaced but the verdict is out ...
Pros: Durable, elegant, unbeatable price and easy to maintain Cons: Saute pan is heavy.
After long research, I decided to purchase the Kirkland 13 Piece 18/10 Stainless Steel Copper-bonded 5 ply base set through Costco. I had always cooked using non-stick cookware, I had used T-fal, Calphalon, Cuisinart and a set of no-name brand my ...
Pros: Good cooking qualities (gets to temp fast and stays there), many pieces, heavy, beautiful Cons: Smallest saucepan is 2 quarts. Very heavy. Not a prestigious brand like All-Clad.
We bought this fine cookware after much research. The copper and aluminum cores mean this cookware gets up to temperature fast and is stays there which is especially import ant to those of us using glass top electric stoves since they tend to cycle on ...
Pros: They're cheap enough for me to experiment with abandon! Cons: It seemed too cheap to be good.
I had been on a quest to upgrade my cookware from a few months ago. Price isn't so much an issue for me as value is. I had a car accident a couple years ago that rendered a torn ligament on my wrist. Since then, gripping has been challenging. I am ...
Pros: Quick, even heating, easy to clean Cons: Heavy
While searching for a new set of stainless steel cookware, I came upon the Kirkland set sold by Costco. I was considering the more expensive brands, but I couldn't pass up the $199 price for so much cookware. The set includes 2 QT and 3 QT saucepans...
Pros: Everything about them and I mean everything Cons: Nothing yet
After doing alot of research,I settled with these pans.I can toss them in the dishwasher, bake in them, and best of all cook in them with little effert!!!
I have used for 20 years the Revereware pans. After 2 MAJOR repairs on my smooth top stove I...
Pros: Inexpensive Lite (if that is a concern) Cons: Low quality inefficient Design Requires more heat to simmer and boil
The original version of this cookware was of very reasonable quality for the price. They were thicker, they transmit the heat better and were better shaped. These new ones have the same finsh or look but they are not as well constructed. Compared to the ...
Pros: Exquisitely made, beautiful, and reasonably priced. Work as well/better than All-Clad. Cons: Eggs are destroyed in these pans!
Now that I am a stay-at-home mom, I'm doing a lot of cooking. My favorite thing is to go through Cooking Light and pick recipes to make during the week. My old set of scratched, cheap "Wearever" was just not cutting it. So, I began to look for a new set, and I knew that All-Clad was the holy grail of cookware. The prices, of course, are about as much as the actual holy grail would cost, so I looked elsewhere.
I have always had great experiences with the Kirkland brand, so I felt no hesitation buying this set. It is comparable to All-Clad in every way. The only difference is the VERY reasonable price of 199.99 USD. For this price you get 13 beautiful, well-made pieces of stainless that are made in Italy, perform well, and look wonderful on the stove or pot rack.
As mentioned in other reviews, the only drawback is the fact that eggs stick to these pans. Other than that, I love everything about them!
After reading the following reviews I can only agree that the Kirkland Stainless set is wonderful. I have had my set for about six months and have told others to purchase the set. I have multiple all-clad pots and pans and feel that the value of the Kirkland set far outweighs the mystique of the all-clad name. Dont get me wrong All-clad pots Are the best but in my opinion my Kirkland set is the closest second I have ever found. Costco will only sell the best products, and they have a return policy to back it up. I would recommend these pans to anyone. As far as eggs, use a nonstick pan.
Kirkland Stainless Steel Cookware by ladywhip ,Dec 13 '08
Pros: even heat, easy to clean. Cons: heavy, bottom of large frying pan is separation.
My husband bought me a set of these pans five years ago to replace everything non stick we had due to my parakeet being killed by the nonstick toxins.. I have really enjoyed the pans, although they are heavy.. But.. I realized fairly recently the bottom has separated on my biggest frying pan, and soon I won't be able to use it. I am going to check and see what the warranty was. I hope it was lifetime. In any event.. I would be cautious about buying them again. BTW.. I have only used these pans on gas ranges.
Kirkland Signature defect (Me Too) on tri-ply Stainless Steel pots. by cooker3 ,Nov 13 '06
Pros: Solid cookware, heavy duty cooking equipment Cons: Bottom separates at the pan and copper ring. Trashing it is inevitable.
Have been using the set for about 18 months now, and just today the large frying pan separated at the copper ring. Same scenario as (Cooker 2). Looked on the web and can't seem to find anyone who sells them separately to replace it for my wife. However, don't really think I will replace it. Unless I hear otherwise on the manufacturing rectifying this separation issue. Open for any and all comments. It is a great set of cookware, we use it on a daily basis and for the most part has stood up to anything we have thrown in it. Excuse the pun. As stated before don't think I'll purchase a replacement.
Costco Products Are Guaranteed by emeraldblue70 ,Nov 24 '06
Pros: None Cons: None
As a frequent shopper of Costco, for all of those whose pots and pans are defective, return the entire set and Costco will replace it or refund your purchase. Costco has a record of the purchase made through your membership card so there is no need to scramble to find the receipt. With the exception of some electronics, Costco guarantees all merchandise whether you bought it a few days ago or one year ago particularly if it's defective.
Kirkland Signature defect on tri-ply Stainless Steel pots. by cooker2 ,Nov 14 '05
Pros: The pots are beautiful and I became hooked when I first seen and touched it. Cons: 1. The 10' skillet would separate from the cooper ring located on the bottom/side.
From a owner of three years I was very satisfied of this product. And like any consumer that loves to cook I've done my research. However, I do recall reading a review that stated the problem I have recently come across. At first, due to the urge of purchasing this set, I thought the review had no merit at all. But, this fact is VERY TRUE. Secondly, the defect is: When the skillet gets hot it separates from the cooper ring located on the bottom/side of the skillet. And after it cools down one of the three metals shrink and the skillet returns to it's normal state - three three metals do not separate completely, and when it is cool you can not separate them. This is very strange... This should sound an alarm to the manufacturer and a recall should be made on these type of pots. Eventually, this pot must be thrown out since, there will be a day when this pot will cool down and will still be separated from the bottom part of the pot. I will contact COSTCO asap.
So, stay tuned to see how COSTCO handle's this matter!!!
I never knew what great pots and pans were until I got my Kirkland Cookware. by gabalique ,Mar 28 '07
Pros: Heat distribution, snug fit lids and durability. Cons: At times,if not taken care of right away, this cookware tends to be difficult to clean.
I received my Kirkland Cookware as a birthday gift this year and I am extremely impressed. Since becoming a stay at home mom recently, I do more cooking than I ever imagined. Now that I have my new stainless steel set from Kirkland, I can enjoy all of the cooking and spend less time cleaning up afterwards. This set had everything I needed including a steamer insert that is wonderful since we eat a lot of fresh steamed vegetables. I love the way the lids fit and how easy it is to go from stove top to oven. I find myself using less heat because this cookware reaches and maintains the desired cooking temperature quickly and evenly. This cookware cooks my meat to just the right color because of the evenly distributed heat and my rice always turns out perfect because of the snug fit of the domed shaped lids. The price was fair considering I will use this set for the rest of my life.
Pros: Good under normal cooking practices. Cons:Very dangerous if overheated. The molten aluminum in the base will spill like water.
I purchased the Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Cookware set as a gift for my daughter. They looked like they were of good quality. They performed very well on all normal cooking practices. Unfortunately, one day my daughter decided to steam some vegetables, but forgot to put water into the bottom pot. After a while, she checked to see how the steaming of her vegetables was going and realized that she had forgotten to add water to the base pot. She immediately lifted the pot off the stove element and upon doing this, a stream of molten aluminum drained from the pot's base onto her linoleum floor. The molten aluminum splattered across the kitchen floor and burned spots in the linoleum wherever it settled before cooling. It was lucky for my daughter that she stepped on only one small spot with one of her bare feet. This caused a minor burn. This situation could have caused a major fire or worse, she could have been very seriously injured. I believe these pots and pans should be recalled and refunded.
