Pros: This crock pot is the finest one I've found. Kitchenaid stands behind their products. Cons: Price and size.
I have been on the lookout for a crock pot/slow cooker for over 5 years now. I did without, rather than settling for an inferior model. I love the convenience of putting a meal together, turning my pot on and coming home to a cooked dinner awaiting me. ...

Pros: USDA recommended temp controls, 5 settings, microprocessor controlled, dishwasher safe Cons: Heavy, outside gets hot, large
I was in the market for a slow cooker recently and researched many slow cookers on the market. I decided on the Kitchenaid KSC700 unit for several reasons. But first the details of the purchase. I purchased the Kitchenaid KSC700 from Cooks Catalog on ...

Pros: Auto and programmable functions. Simmer setting. Heats evenly. No hot spots. Cons: None really. Too big to keep on the counter.
Finally, a slow cooker you can actually walk away from! We love slow cookers, but we've outgrown the round ones; they just aren't big enough for the things we like to cook. We've owned a number of oval slow cookers, and every one of them had one (or ...

Crock Pot Cracked twice
by jhoughton ,Mar 21 '08
Pros: Nice appearance and size Cons: Crock pot has cracked on two occasions and poor lid fit.
Great size, like the appearance and multi temp control. Great for large meals. Overal a nice product, just pricey.
Crock Pot has cracked on two seperate pots. Kitchen aid replace first at no charge. Need to report second crack.
1st pot cracked on third or fourth use.
2nd cracked on first use, both after about being on for an hour.

Pros: Nice looking, lots of features Cons: Can't use a nice looking appliance that doesn't work, costly to keep replacing a liner
The Crock liner has cracked twice, Kitchen aid replaced the 1st one I tried to tell the Rep that something is wrong with the heating unit. Had a cheap Rival that lasted 14 years and half the price. Only on for 32 minutes when it cracked in the middle of an important family dinner. The lid didn't fit for a good seal and the pot just boils all the time, no way to control the temperature. Still under warranty but I don't want another crock liner to spoil another dinner.I am going to buy something else. Overall a BIG VERY DISAPPOINTED

KitchenAid slow cooker
by wendellj1 ,Feb 07 '07
Pros: Nice even cooking. Easy to use. Cons: None
I love this slow cooker. It is so easy to use. You plug it in, set the timer and your done. The food you prepare in the cooker is so yummy. Meat is tender, vegtables have intense flavor. I just can't say enough. I purchased and used 3 other brand name slow cookers. Every one of the other brands turned the food to mush. Boiled the contents. I paid a bit more for this one but the value I got is worth it. Also, the bottom of the electrical unit has a molded plastic area to wrap the cord around, the plug snaps into a fixture. So when you are storing this unit, the plug and cord are out of the way. LOVE THIS COOKER! A+++++++

Big Disappointment
by redcooker ,Nov 15 '07
Pros: pretty color Cons: poor quality, seriously overpriced.
I needed to replace my old slowcooker. After shopping around, I decided on Kitchen Aid.
I was very disappointed: 1)the lid fit so poorly there was a 1/4 inch gap. Kitchen Aid sent me a replacement lid that fit worse. The Kitchen Aid service rep said that is how the lid is supposed to fit.
2)After the fourth use, the crock cracked.
This slow cooker was expensive and because of Kitchen Aid's reputation I expected quality.
I paid for the name and got ripped off. I am going to purchase an inexpensive model.

KitchenAid KSC700 7-Quart Slow Cooker
by delnor ,Sep 27 '07
Pros: excellent size, cool touch housing!! Cons: no real temp control, ill fitting lids, funky removable rubber seal on lid
I own several kitchenAid products and was pleased to see a LARGE capacity slow cooker in their product line. After getting it home I realized the lid didn't fit right and returned it two more times looking for a proper fitting lid. I gave up the third time and figured this must be the way it is supposed to fit (lop-sided)I cooked a number of recipes in this and found that even on the low temp setting it still boiled every dish to an overcooked finish. Although the size and cool touch housing are a plus I long for a more variable temp control and a delay start timer as well as a lid that fits properly and not retro-fitted with a rubber seal as if to compensate for a poor fit.

Defective lid
by slimpickns ,Feb 28 '07
Pros: Built like a tank. Cons: Defective lid.
I purchased this cooker based on a variety of gushing user reviews. I got it home only to find out that the glass lid does not fit properly on the ceramic cooking chamber. Either the lid or the lip of the cooking chamber (or both) are warped, resulting in large gaps between the lid and chamber. This obviously makes it impossible to establish a good moisture-lock (which, after all, is one of the advantages of a slow-cooker). Disappointing to say the least, but doubly so when you consider the price of this unit. This defect would have been easy to catch at the factory if Kitchen-Aid and its manufacturer cared enough to institute some simple quality control procedures - but I guess that's asking too much nowadays.

Piece of Crap
by allenac ,Aug 02 '08
Pros: Like the size. Cons: Do not buy.
I bought a KitchenAid slow cooker in 12/2007.
I have had 3 of the liners crack. They are sending me a whole new unit but if you go to their website you sill find numerous people who have had problems. They will not refund your money.
Two of the pots I only used once.

Disappointed
by sibbet ,Apr 06 '08
Pros: Good looking Cons: MAJOR lid flaw, does not fit!
The size and appearance are nice. Temperature control is limited to high, low, simmer, buffet, not a major issue but if you're looking for more control this doesn't have it. The biggest issue is the lid does not fit. If you're trying to get the contents up to a boil it takes forever because the lid is too small for the pot. They have put a rubber gasket on the lid, but it still doesn't solve the problem. I've had to resort to covering the top of the crock pot with foil so you can't see how your meal is progressing.

HORRIBLE PRODUCT !!!!!
by dunwithka ,Aug 23 '09
Pros: Attractive counter-top decoration, if an appliance theme is your taste !! Cons: UNRELIABLE POT, too big for counter-top decoration. POOR QUALITY
Kitchen Aid slow cooker SUCKS !!!!! Obviously a MAJOR design/material flaw. ANOTHER cracked insert, we're on our third one. We were charged $20 for the last one. We're DONE with KA products.
I compare this product to buying a luxury car (high price) and getting an economy compact car quality.
Turns out that I should have spent the money on the All-Clad slow cooker.

I Love It
by parla16715 ,Nov 13 '07
Pros: The automatic high/low feature, and the warm setting after cooking. The oval shape. Cons: The size. I don't use it for small meals.
This is probably my 5th crock pot ......... so I know what I want ........ and this is it. It has the combination of size and style; but the PLUS is the automatic feature that most crock pots lack. It starts on high, but automatically sets itself on low, and then has a warm feature. The other crock pots just start cooking on low without the high/low feature. It also has a warm feature, so you are guaranteed to have a hot meal. Another plus for me is the color. I have a red one, and it's pretty. It has all of the functions I need, plus it looks great. This is my favorite crock pot, and I won't have to buy another!!!

awful!
by sarah79 ,May 04 '08
Pros: none since it doesn't work! Cons: pot cracked
lid did not fit properly
pot cracked after 2 uses. thank goodness i was able to return it to the retailer.
had similar quality issues with other Kitchen Aid small appliances (ie. toaster oven). it appears the Kitchen Aid brand is unable to produce high quality small appliances. i'm still waiting to have my toaster oven fixed ... was told 6 weeks! thank goodness i was able to return the slow cooker ...

Another CRACKPOT!
by longviews ,Mar 27 '09
Pros: The only positive about this product was the customer service. Cons: Overall, an overpriced, inferior product.
I will add to the chorus of cracked liners- mine was replaced twice- after one use in the first one, and after 3 times with the second. I also had trouble with temperature control. Low was really very high- and cooked things to mush in anything over 2 hours. I complained to Kitchen Aid and they sent me a whole new unit- same issues and another cracked insert. I GIVE UP!! A small appliance that costs $130 should certainly work- I don't know why they continue to produce such a poor product in the face of so many complaints. The lid issue did seem to be addressed with the second unit- the lid was much more snug.
