I bought this microwave as part of a recent kitchen remodel. The controls are less intuitive than I expected. However, I figured out how to cook, defrost and reheat after a few tries. The most annoying feature in this oven by far is a little mentioned cycle called 'Cooling'. Under certain cooking settings, the fan can run up to 30 minutes after the food is done. There is no way to stop the fan, not even opening the door. You just have to wait it out! I've owned other built in microwaves before and never have I had this noisy feature. KitchenAid confirmed this feature as NORMAL.... Hmmm.... This is the first time I bought a microwave with a drop down door. I find myself having to be extra careful when placing or removing glass items into the oven. I'm worried that I will hit the glass tray accidently. I wish there were more reviews out there on this model. It would have been helpful in eliminating this one. If I had it to do over again, I would not have bought this microwave.
