Pros: Great sound, great price Cons: Weird power switch location
I actually had orginally purchased the top end Logitech jobs, but was shocked to hear clipping and mid-range vibration on some music from them. So back they went and in came the Klipsch's. I made agreat choice- these babies are LOUD, yet quite accurate ...

Pros: Clear sound, deep bass Cons: Expensive for a 2.1!
I've had the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers for over 2 years now. The speaker set is actually quite old and has been on the market for a while. At first I was turned off by their high price tag, but after buying an Altec-Lansing 2.1 set that made a ...

Pros: Excellent sound quality, fantastic looks, manageable footprint. Cons: Connections to speaker have failed on multiple sets, resulting in unbearable sound.
I have owned two of these sets of Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers over the last 6 years. I use my speakers for several hours every day. I am extremely pleased with the quality of the sound. You can turn these up high enough to power any party, or if you'd ...

I purchased and returned several different types and brands of computer speakers before I found the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1. Some of the speakers that I bought and returned included Logitech Z-2300, Logitech Z-5500, Logitech Z-4, Logitech X-540, Altec ...

Pros: Good clarity, rich bass Cons: expensive, off switch on subwoofer
These speakers were a no brainer to install. The 1/8 inch jacks on the back of the speaker render having to fiddle with positive and negative bare wire ends a lot simpler. Yet I wish they had done the same to the connections on the subwoofer. The...

Pros: Highs, Lows, sound at all volumes Cons: Price, too loud!
This speaker system is small enough to sit on a desk, but the sound effortlessly fills a room. I have been listening to these speakers for three years, and they are the most accurate speaker system for computers that I have ever heard. Playback with ...

Pros: Excellent, low cost, powerful sound solution for use as a home sound system. Cons: The speaker connectors are sub-standard and are intermittent if you touch them.
If your looking for a home audio system I highly recommend these speakers over the alternative power amplifier and un-powered speakers. They have an excellent powerful clean full sound without the high cost. As a portable sound system for livening up a...

I am not a big audiophile, but I decided to get new speakers when I upgraded my computer. I am really glad I did. The sound this system produces is better than my stereo system I have hooked up to my TV. I listen to all types of music(cd/dvd), and the ...

Incredible Bargain
by sanlee ,Jan 19 '07
Pros: Excellent sound and build quality for the cost. Cons: The on/off switch is located on the subwoofer. A royal pain.
I have had these speakers for two years and feel compelled to share my satisfaction with them. I have a home office and listen to on-line stations for the most part - jazz and classical . The clarity of these speakers at low volume is excellent. And when I crank it for workouts, the subwoofer does tend to rattle the china off the shelves. I agree with other reviews as to the mid-range, sometimes listening to dvd movies at middle volumes can be slightly muddy, with the bass kicking up too much.
But I still am thankful I followed my ears the day I picked these up instead of just grabbing a pair of cheap replacement speakers. These have provided endless hours of wonderful sound. For the price, they cannot be beat.

Very muddy bass, horrible mids.
by zack65 ,Feb 28 '05
Pros: Build quality solid except for connectors. Nice looking. Bass gets loud. Cons: VERY boomy bass, poor mids. Speaker connectors are poor quality.
Ordered these based on excellent reviews; VERY disappointed. They sound like they are in a closet. The mids are SO hollow sounding and forget crisp highs. I tried moving the speakers to various locations, different source inputs, ...forget it. I have honestly had $50 speakers sound far better.
The bass is beyond muddy. Reviewers that stated the bass is tight must be smoking something because no matter where I placed the sub it was horrible. (Note: location did help some - keep the sub off the ground and away from corners. Forget putting it under your desk as Klipsch suggests.)
Finally as mentioned by other reviewers, the speakers connectors don't keep a connection. Simply wiggling them causes the speakers to cut in and out.
If you are a gamer who wants big boomy bass (the sub does get loud) you might like these. If you are looking for speakers for low to mid volume music listening of jazz, pop vocal, classical, acoustic, and the like - save your money. Not only can you do better but I doubt you could do worse.
BTW - speaker angle IS adjustable, simply bend arch of metal legs. Fairly easy to do.
