I also have had 2 of these machines, had to return the 1st a week after purchasing b/c multiple things started to all of as sudden not work. Then the 2nd, I have had for 3 mos - and suddenly isn't even getting power. This is a piece of junk and waste of every penny. The coffee isn't that great and not nearly hot enough, I have to microwave every cup, it takes up a ton of counter space, is very loud when making espresso, and beeps for everything - no way to turn off. Best advice, DO NOT BUY this maker. I will never buy a KRUPS again from my experience with this machine.

This is an amazing machine for the money. The capacino I made today was as good or better than one you can buy in any cafe, and blows Starbucks out of the water!

It's loaded with more features than you could want. The espresso was rich with a nice crema and the coffee maker does it's job nicely too. I don't see why anyone would pay thousands for fancy espresso machines, when this does it all for under $300!

There are a lot of parts and cleaning the espresso part of the machine is a little bit of work, but I think you'd get that with any other espresso maker too.

The steam frother blew me away--it made an absolutely perfect foam on the first try.

The blue display is just too cool!

I love this machine. Not only will it look fantastic on your bench, but it is easy to clean and makes a lovely cup of coffee. You can decide on the strength too and it is really quick. i researched for ages before making a decision on which machine to buy, but having the option of Espresso or filter was a must- its so much more flexible. I can honestly say I use this machine every morning and even sneak one in on an evening too now!! Buy it!

Do not buy this machine. What a waste of $300. You cannot pour coffee from the carafe without spilling it. Plus they were even too cheap to throw in the proper espresso maker containers needed for making a latte.

Probably the worst kitchen equipment I have ever had.

1) Espresso maker is intermitent, often not working and just pumping and then the control panel flashes and it stops.  The water tank is full.  - No coffee.

Leaks all over the kitchen top which has now delaminated as the footprint is so large you can't see the leaks unless you move it.

2) Now the filter coffee doesn't work.  The pot no longer opens the valvel in the filter holder

It's going back - not fit for purpose - intend to get money back.  See other reviews too (eg review centre) - very low scores.  Seems to be a lot of breakdowns.  So much for German engineering....

Pros: Great espresso, with good crema. It's easy to load and brews quickly
Cons: The steam wand becomes a missle.

This was given as a gift to me and my wife. It makes great espresso, and looks great on the counter. As an added plus, it makes coffee as well. I never had a problem with the brewing of coffee or the great espresso it made. If you want to steam milk, you're going to have to be very careful. About 2/3 of the time the steam wand will "blow off" and shoot into your milk, causing an explosion. I don't know how many times I have had to clean splattered milk off the counter, the side of the machine, and the underside of the cabinets. Not something you want to do early in the morning. Please consider a different model.

To keep this brief I love this machine while it is working. Now that I am packing up my second machine in 6 monthsto be sent back I am looking elsewhere. First machine after 1 month started pushing water straight into cooling water catch tray and not through the brewing head. Second machine lasted 4 months and now just pour warm water out of the bottom of the machine all over the counter. To bad because it did for a little while pour a great shot.
