Pros: small, effecient, quick freeze Cons: I didn't buy one 5 years ago
I love this fridge!! I bought it in April 2004 as I moved residences. This fridge self levels very easily when installed. The top part is spacious and you can move any of the smaller trays on the door anywhere you want on the door, and technically ...

Pros: The freezer is the best Cons: Spacing of fridge shelfs somewhat tight in order to store gallon of spring water.
The bottom freezer was the selling point for me as there are 3 nice sized drawers. I can actually find things in the freezer without risking frost bite shuffling everything around. Or buying cheap wire shelfs for neatly stacking things. No need to empty ...

Waited three months on back order to get this fridge, which is quite a looker, even paid more for the "titanium" finish. then opened the box, plugged it in according to directions, and it never got cold. took three weeks to get LG service to come to my ...

Quiet, efficient, well-designed
by gregfokker ,Apr 26 '04
Pros: Small footprint, intelligent interior design, solid construction, attractive appearance Cons: None.
One of the highlights of my new apartment was that it came with this LG refrigerator included.
The unit is spacious for its size and well-thought out, with see-through adjustable shelves. The frost-free freezer freezes solid without destroying more delicate ice-creams and sorbets as others do. The compressor is quiet and efficient, and the unit has a solid feel to it. This is the first LG appliance I've had occasion to use, and it's also the best refrigerator I've ever had.

LG guarantee (labor cost complaint)
by kaismaniv ,May 18 '07
Pros: Upper portion is refrigerator/freezer in lower. Excellent parts guarantee(7yr.). Cons: 10 day wait for authorized service(10 days). Extended serv. agreement is spendy.
For the LG LRB-P1031 Bottom Freezer Refrigerator. It has a bullet resistant warranty period(7 years). It is very convenient to have the freezer on the bottom and that plus a 7 year parts guarantee. So the guarantee and convenience sold me on it. It functioned perfectly until it hit 37 months of ownership for me. The compressor failed at that point and I was ecstatic that I had a 7 yr. guarantee for parts/labor. Wrong. I called the manufacturer (LG Appliances)and told them the problem and they kindly provided the name of several local service representatives. I contacted them and the local vendor outlet where I purchased it(for $745 USD). Best-Buy(product vendor)said they'd give me a $100 price reduction on another unit. Passed on that. The AUTHORIZED repairmen said 10 day waiting period for visit to pick up and return unit to shop for diagnosis, but LABOR for the repair would be around $374. Parts are furnished free. I bought a new Westinghouse from LOWES for $650. Pass on LG Appliances, even with the parts free.

Disappointed
by fritrer ,Jan 16 '08
Pros: Compact and looks nice, but doesn't mean much if it doesn't work. Cons: Need I say more.
Our refrigerator had a sealed component issue (restriction) at 13 months, one month after the parts/labor warranty expired. I was directed to an authorized technician, who confirmed that even with LG paying for the sealed components per warranty, the total cost to repair would be $485, nearly as much as the fridge cost with no guarantee that we would face another restriction in the future.
LG is of no help in the issue and obviously doesn't care enough about negative word-of-mouth to fix their product. Now, 13 months after purchasing a $600 fridge I am purchasing a new one and will be telling everyone I know to avoid LG refrigerators.
