Leatherman PST II- Handle This Tool With Care!

by rpllingrock Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Oct 12 '00
Pros: Long Warranty
Cons: Fragile Construction
My Leatherman PST II has been by my side for five years now. In this time I've found a variety of tasks both at home and work. Just don't expect to use it as you would a normal tool!

These types of multi-tools are designed...

Not a Bad B-Movie -- a Great Little All-in-One Tool

by bczernik , Feb 20 '01
Pros: Handy all-in-one convenience with a nice set of tools. Very sharp knife.
Cons: Very sharp knife (I’ve cut myself). The handle could be improved.
[ history ]
I was given the Leatherman PST II as a gift a year ago. I have since repeated the “favor” by giving one of these to my brother (albeit a more souped-up version). This version has all the features I would want without extra bulk,...

The Ultimate Multi-Tool

by voodoo3475 , Sep 04 '00
Pros: Light; Plenty of Tools; 25 Year Warranty
Cons: Posi-Lock can be hard to unlock
I like to camp a lot, and I needed a new knife. A lot of people had recommended just about any type of Leatherman. I had narrowed it down to two knives, the Wave and the PSTII. The Wave has much more features I and would of wanted the Wave more but it...

Only Leaves My Pocket When I Fly

by s-o-m-e-g-u-y , Dec 17 '09
Pros: Variety of tools in a compact, sleek tool.  Good blade, decent screwdrivers.
Cons: Tools don't fully lock, and may slip.  Scissors gum up over time.
Years and years ago my father bought me a Leatherman PST, but I had some problems with the pliers on it.  Leatherman honored their warranty; they didn't bat an eye, told me to send it in, and it was promptly replaced with a PST II.  Since then, ...

Can't live without it!

by richlt , Jan 11 '00
Pros: Compact, quality tool
Cons: Expensive
When I was in the military, the PST-II was invaluable. Now that I am a civilian, this tool hasn't lost any usefulness. It was so good I bought a replacement immediately when I lost it out in the woods. The serrated blade is very sharp and cuts through...

Age Showing

by dynaryder , Aug 23 '00
Pros: Tool selection,needlenose,size.
Cons: Non-locking,discomfort when squeezing pliers.
When they first came out,Leathermans set the standard. Now their age is starting to show when compared to other tools' features. The PST II has a good selection of tools(the diamond coated file is a nice touch) and I still think Leathermans have the...

THE BEST

by bazouli , Mar 26 '00
Pros: BEST UNIT AROUND
Cons: little pricey, no tool lock
I have owned one of these for about three years now. I really do use it at least once a day. I have left the house without it once in the three years I've had it. I take it EVERYWHERE. I plan to get married wearing it. I'm a computer technician and...

Good but not safe
by kirkep ,Jun 21 '09
Pros: Pocket size, well-made, handy set of tools in one sturdy package.
Cons: I don't recommend this tool because the danger of the tools moving around.
I think Leatherman tools in general are great - I have several. I bought the PST II for my wife for Christmas. She liked it and immediately started using it for art projects. But then I actually looked closely at it and realized that the tools DO NOT LOCK IN PLACE -- including the viciously sharp serrated knife blade. I promptly made it "disappear" and gave her another (more expensive) Leatherman that locks. This is going into the emergency box in the car.
