Pros: Smooth, fast, cutting, excellent quality.
Cons: A bit heavy.
I decided to buy a gas-powered hedge trimmer after seeing so many pros use them. What attracted me was the fact that the gas-powered trimmers seemed able to run at lower, adjustable blade speeds, allowing for better control, instead of running full-on like the electric hedge trimmers I've used, many of which tend to saw rather than cut. What really surprised me about the Makita is that it cuts almost effortlessly while you sweep the blade through bushes, even woody ones. I estimate I can trim bushes 3 to 4 times faster than when using an electric. The single sided blade is no limitation at all, and the trimmer runs in most orientations (maybe not upside down!). The pull starter is smooth and easy to use. I've had my EH760 for two years now and it's been worth every penny.
