Just buy them already!
by tennlock ,Nov 06 '03
Pros: Smoother, quieter, better gas mileage = better daily commute Cons: None
Not much to say other than these tires are the best. I hemmed and hawed for a couple of months over which tires to buy for my '96 Explorer. The price of these Michelins, of course, was a big reason for dragging my feet. But when you consider the importance of tires and all they stand for in your daily drive's comfort and safety, price shouldn't even be a question. The original 'Courser' tires didn't seem all that bad because I didn't know any better. Now that I have these Michelins, I actually enjoy driving the truck again. It's truly like having a new ride. I've had the 'new tires' experience before and realize that anything newer is going to be better than old, but this time it's truly different. Seriously, just buy them already! You won't be disappointed. I got mine at Costco.

Long Tread Life
by jimbo68 ,Feb 14 '06
Pros: You get your money's worth. Cons: None that I know of.
Own an Infinity QX4. I have put over 75K miles on these tires. They have life left in them. What a tire! Great traction in the snow and ice. Their pricey, but they seem to last forever.

Michelin LTX M/S- Buy these tires!!
by aamittle ,Apr 02 '05
Pros: Smooth, quiet ride. Great handling. Cons: A little pricey.
All I can say is "WOW"! I had no idea what a difference tires make to the overall driving experience. I have a 2000 Expedition and needed to replace my aging Goodyear tires. I can't tell you how impressed I was immediately after having the Michelins installed. The SUV handles much better, the ride is very smooth, quiet and solid. Gone are the squeals when I corner and the wiggly front end when I go above 65mph. Driving this SUV was becoming a chore and now it's a pleasure. Buy these tires- you won't be dissapointed.

Note two different LTX M/S Tires: The "H" model and the "S" !!!
by davidhighland ,Aug 03 '06
Pros: The "H" gives a great ride and handling on a Land Cruiser type vehicle. Cons: The "H" wears more quickly than other tires. Not terribly, but noticeably.
Hard to believe, but true. Tires appear to be identical, but are not. When you order a Michelin LTX M/S tire, they make two different ones, under the same model number, that look alike! The H is a softer ride, with softer rubber, and, in theory, doesn't wear as long. The S is a stiffer ride, with harder rubber, and may last longer.
The "H" is OEM for Land Cruisers and Lexus LX 450, etc. (Check carefully for your vehicle, and watch for this next level of differentiation; i.e., the difference between the H and the S model). The speed rating for the H is higher; and many believe best not to lower a speed rating from OEM if you can avoid it. Speed rating for H is 130mph; rating for S is 112 or 114.
This data should prove useful to anyone looking to buy these Michelins.

Michelin LTX M/S Truck/SUV Tire: Awesome
by marcellj ,Feb 15 '07
Pros: These tires are extra sticky on ice and snow! Cons: Expensive. Be sure to check the alignment and balance twice a year at a minimum.
I've got two Ford Expeditions to maintain here in Colorado and living south of Denver has been a paradise for snow and ice lately. We're into the 48th day of it. I wont go into a long essay on this, but suffice it to say that the other reviews on these tires are right on target. In my case, I was looking for tires that would tackle the ice and snow.
I live up on a hill, so driving up and down it can be a terror at times, especially when you lose traction. This road isn't always plowed, sanded, or sprayed with de-icers, although it is a school bus route. The slope angle of the hill varies between 10-13 degrees, so it can be an added challenge.
Adding these Michelin LTX M/S tires to our Expeditions has totally solved my problems with traction on ice and snow. If you are looking for tires with extra grip, these are an excellent choice (although more expensive).

Awesome tires
by redfisher78 ,Jan 04 '07
Pros: Tread Life is amazing
Good wet Traction
Quiet
Stable ride confident ride Cons: More pricey than any other tire. Well worth it
Just got a new set on my 2001 Tacoma. 265/70/r16. They were original equipment. I got 80,000 miles out of them over 5.5 years. The last 20,000 mile I stupidly did not rotate them and had a situation where i still had decent tread in the back but not much up front, so I decided to replace all of them together. If I had rotated them I probably would have gotten another 7-10,000 miles out of them. I use the tires off road for work and I tow a boat in Florida, they work great on slippery boat ramps, and ride very well. Best tire I have ever come across. Didnt think about replacing them with anything else. Dont know if it is the truck or the tires but I have never needed an alignment.

A Great Tire
by ponpilot ,Nov 24 '08
Pros: Super mileage, quiet, good traction in all situations, dependable and worry free. Cons: A little pricey, but, are they really?
I have a 1999 LX470 Lexus SUV with 261,645 miles on it, and this set of Michelin LTX M/S Truck/SUV Tire has been on it since 151,041 miles, or 110,605 miles, and it still has fair tread, even the rain grooves are still effective, though not as much of course. I've been driving 55 years and owned many vehicles, but this is by far the most miles I ever got out of a set of tires. This is a full time four wheel drive heavy vehicle, and I drive it really hard sometimes. I couldn't ask for a better or more trouble free tire.

No problems - love this tire! I would definitely buy them again in a second!
by victoriantea ,Jun 13 '08
Pros: Excellent Michelin Tires - no surprises on wet & windy roads Cons: None that I can think of
Michelin tires have never failed me and I've owned cars for 20 years. My latest is a SUV that I put the Michelin LTX M/S tire on. It handles awesome on windy, mountain roads and I never go off road. They are perfect in the rain (which we get a lot of on the "wet" coast and I can't tell it's raining when I'm driving. Haven't had snow yet with these new tires but don't foresee any problems with the amounts of snow we get around here. I'd buy them again in a second!
