Pros: works better than other stuff I have tried. Cons: $$$
Recently, I purchased a 4.5 oz bottle of Neutrogena T-Sal Therapeutic Shampoo from drugstore.com for $6.29. Sure, its a hefty price to pay, but I have a hefty problem on my hands too. This particular specialty shampoo is for dandruff, ...
Pros: It works. It's color and fragrance free Cons: The price is a bit high.
All of a sudden I have a flaky scalp. Im pretty sure its not dandruff, as I dont have an oily scalp. But not only do I have a flaky scalp, sometimes my head itches like mad. When Id had enough, I went to Wal-Mart to check out their ...
Pros: A great maker that stands behind their product. Cons: Make sure you know what is wrong before using.
I admit it. I have that horrible itchy, scaling, feel like reptile condition. Whether it is Dandruff, Psoriasis, or just Dry Scalp which depends on the Doctor I complain to about it; So I tried this product from Neutrogena. What does this product ...
Pros: Noticeable results from first wash Works on thick scalp buildup Cons: Does not smell pretty
Out of no where last month I began having a problem with my scalp. In one spot, about the size of a quarter, on my head I was getting crusting yellowish white stuff that would peel off and I was absolutely positive it was not dandruff. This quarter sized ...
Pros: none. Cons: waste of money. it worsened my case!
I'm quite a fan of Neutrogena products though not everything they have - but because it is a very trusted brand name, I was glad to see they have something for the scalp too.
I thought I finally found a solution to my scalp problems reading good reviews from it. And since I am desperate to find a cure over my dandruff and bought 2 bottles of T/Sal.
I tried it once with very little amount. I started up the lather .. it feels heavy. My hair was sticky while it was wet. I continued on thinking I still have to rinse it anyhow. After rinsing and drying ... my hair was very stiff and sticky.
My scalp? The moment my hair dried, LARGE FLAKES started surfacing immediately. I never had them that big.
I washed my hair the next day and my scalp still had the huge flakes.
It didn't cure nor even helped my scalp problems - It has worsened it.
I still have the T/Sal bottles at home. I don't even want to sell it on ebay. I won't recommend it to anyone.
I bought T-Sal hoping that the salicylic acid would work for me because pyrithione zinc, coal tar, and Nizoral all failed miserably. I wouldn't say that my dandruff is horrible, but I have a few patches that get pretty flaky and my whole scalp is constantly itchy and drives me crazy. I did like that T-Sal didn't have any smell because most of the other dandruff shampoos are awful. However, after using T-Sal everyday for about two weeks, I hadn't really seen any improvement. I guess I'll have to give up and go to the dermatologist :(
Pros: None. Cons: Expensive and will leave you with oily hair.
I bought this as I have been having flakes and scalp build-up.Thought since it was a good brand, that it would be great. It's awful. It has not worked,I have flakes still. It's also left my hair very, very oily. It's expensive.I wish I had never bought it,because now I've lost money and it's not worked.I would not recommend this to anyone.
Pros: doesn't smell as strong as Tgel Cons: doesn't prevent dandruff
I have used Tgel with coal tar for over 2 years, and it has been the most effective dandruff shampoo I have ever used. so effective, that maybe I thought my dandruff was less of a problem, so I bought the Tsal this time. I have much more dandruff now than with Tgel, I am definitely switching back.
Pros: Very Good.... :-)) Cons: The absence of good fragrance. Dont worry when the product works well.
It's a good one ofcourse!! But make a judicious use of it. U cant just buy a product like this off the counter and say "its bad". IT's a medicine (It was prescribed for me to get relief from flaking and itching). So, naturally it wont work or make things worse for those who dont know about their scalp condition. Ask a dermatologist if it will work for u....
Over the years have tried every dandruff shampoo out there including Selsun Blue and T-Gel. Just discovered T-Sal and it has really helped reduce the intense scalp itching I experienced for years due to seborrheic dermatitis.
I had eczema spots on my head. They itched & hurt. T Sal knocked them out within a week. I am so grateful. I shampoo with another shampoo first & then with the 2nd lather use the T Sal.
One reason I was getting dandruff (not eczema) was I was not really rinsing thoroughly.
Pros: It actually works!!! Cons: Price is a bit steep.
I have tried everything on the market, and still had a terrible issue with dandruff. I was about ready to call the doctor for a prescription, when I saw this product mentioned on a website.
It's wonderful! It lathers well, so you don't need to use much, and there is no smell at all.
I did still have a slight problem with dandruff, so I scrubbed my scalp with this, let it sit for a few minutes, wash it out, then wash again with Denorex. I only have to do this twice a week.
