Pros: Compact, lightweight, easy to use, solid shots, it was free! Cons: Had some battery issues, lag between shutter press and photo capture.
A couple of months ago, one of the sites I write for announced that they would be giving away a free Nikon 4 megapixel camera for everyone who wrote 15 articles that month. As a happy coincidence, my husband had just recently been complaining that he ...
Pros: Ease of use; good pictures; easy menus, settings & file xfer. Cons: No audio for video mode; warranty covers NOTHING that could possibly break.
Basically, this camera is easy & fun enough that the kids can use it... but flimsy enough that you should NEVER let it fall into their hands. This camera was a gift last August from the kids' grandmother, who wanted to make sure she receives an ...
Pros: Solid, price, ease of use, image quality. Cons: No SD card included, Sluggish LCD viewer.
I am a visual artist and I need a reliable camera for documenting my work. The Nikon L4's reliability, scene assist modes, and picture quality will improve my photos. Reliability is important to me. This camera is reliable. The batteries last a ...
Pros: compact, has a flash, has an LCD screen, shoots video, user-friendly menu. Cons: everything is BLURRY, flash too bright, needs tripod for clear pics, records no sound.
I have owned a Nikon Coolpix L4 for a year now. I bought it as a replacement for an Olympus digital camera that had died. Unfortunately, my experience has not been a good one. The camera takes lovely photos outside in the sunlight, but in other ...
Pros: Cheap, Compact, Variety of Settings, Good Picture Quality Cons: No sound recording, Doesn't warn when battery is low
Nikon L4 Nice compact camera for an even better price. Look/Design/Use The Nikon L4 is an extremely compact camera, prefect for slipping in your pocket or purse. It is approx. 3 1/2 inches in length, an inch wide and 2 1/4 in height. As said, a ...
Pros: Great outdoors shots Cons: VERY blurry indoor shots
This is a great little camera for taking outdoor shots. The pictures are crisp and clear, absolutely no problems at all. We were very impressed with the ability to take pictures from inside of a moving vehicle. They actually came out decent! ...
Pros: Many photo shooting options and aids, size, connects directly to computer Cons: lag between shutter press and photo capture
I love this camera! It's easy to use, assists with capturing well composed photos(via built-in aids), and the magnification (2 different ways to magnify--and can use both at the same time) helps with taking those beautiful zoomed-in photos of flowers ...
Pros: Pretty much everything on the camera, great photo editing software. Cons: Battery life
This is the best digital camera out there in this class of cameras. Nikon makes some of the best cameras on the market and this is one of them. It is only 4.0 megapixels but don't let that fool you. The camera is perfect size, not too small not too ...
Confirmed: Only good in Sun or flash portraits by nickdanger42 ,Jul 10 '07
Pros: Good grip, easy to use, optical zoom Cons: Horrible for anything but portraits.
After looking, admittedly not too hard, for a new SMALL digital camera, I settled on the Nikon L4. It was small, but still felt secure in my grasp. It has an optical zoom, an 'up-close' setting and would use the memory card type I already had.
What I have found is that it can only take quality shots in the sun or as a portrait. If the camera is left in the BSS (Best Shot Selection they say, I say something else) and indoor it will inevitably think that there is enough light, and then your shot will be blurry.
There are settings to change some of this, but they fail to achieve the ability to make indoor non-portrait shots with low light. All they would need to do, is add the ability to force shutter speed.
I love the pictures from my camera but had trouble with the warranty. I was on an outing to Mt Baldy and when I turned on my camera for a photo shoot condensation somehow got into the lens. I sent it back to Nikon to be fixed but they said the only thing covered under the warranty was a manufactures defect and condensation accumulating in the lens was not covered and the cost to repair was the same amount I paid for the camera. I was very disappointed and even though I like the camera, I will not be buying another Nikon product. Would like to hear if anyone else has had trouble with Nikon service.

Pros: clear visible pictures Cons: it is kind of bigger than than all the others ones
i have had three model of Nikon before i brought this one and this camera takes clearly visible picture, Nikon cameras is a good camera on a whole but this came is the best they have so far.
Don't waste you money on this one by mitchmail1 ,Nov 02 '07
Pros: Cheap price (cheap camera) Cons: 80% of pics blur, shutter lag is awful
Keep shopping before you buy this one. Even though you may find it at a bargain price. Spend an extra $10 or $20 and get a Kodak.
About 80% of the pics I take with this unit are blurred. Even using a tripod and shooting a still subject the pics still blur. At first I thought it was a defective camera, but 2 of my friends bought the same camera as gifts and they have the same complaints. It is the most annoying point and shoot digi camera I have ever used. And the shutter lag will have you cursing. I have missed so many great photo opps because of having to wait. People with similar Nikon models have the same complaints as the L4. I'm replacing it with a Kodak M753
Pros: good price, quality pictures, small, light, clear viewing screen Cons: recycle time after flash, delay when trying to take a picture
This is the second cool pix that we have owned. The first with similar features worked great and was only replaced after my wife dropped it and broke the lense. I only have a couple of complaints 1. the delay between pressing the button and actually taking the picture - this often causes blurriness or with kids not getting the picture you desired. You primarily see this when using the flash 2. the recycle time when using the flash - after taking a picture using the flash often takes 10 seconds to be able to take a second picture
Pros: Cheap, Great Pictures, Good Video Cons: No Sound, Long Start-Up, Bad Battery Life
I wanted to get at least a 4 megapixel camera and didn't need all the fancy options and I found this camera is perfect. The pictures are very clear for such a low price camera. I don't think the battery life was that great, but I will just get some rechargable batterys. This is not a very good camera for fast pictures as it takes some time for you to take a picture from start-up. The video quality is pretty good for an extra but there is no sound. There is no view-finder but I could care less as I can always see the LCD. The thing I liked best about this camera is that the pictures are great and thats what I have a camera for.
shutter lag, small screen, no sound when it records a video.
I've had this camera for three years, it has great battery life, it was pretty cheap, ($120.00) but it was incredibly slow. The shutter lag is at least 4 seconds, and it took another 2-3 seconds to view the picture that was taken. It's an old model, and better ones were made, so if you want a coolpix you might as well buy a different model.
