Pros: LongevityUsefulnessAdaptability Cons: No longer in commercial production....
As I sit here studying law in my first year, I realize that I've had my Odyssey 38 since my 8th grade year, making this the tenth year that I've owned this pack and never needed another one. The padding is STILL superb, all the zippers work flawlessly, ...
Pros: Amt of space, does not strain back even under heavier loads, clean, simple design Cons: Can't stand upright on its own not being fully loaded. Little pricey; shop around.
Have only had the pack a short time, but it has a lot of nice features. First of all this bag can hold more than you might think it can at first sight. The official space is 2350 cubic inches. There are several compartments, which has caused problems in ...
Pros: Comfortable, weightless, large enough to carry almost anything Cons: Loading system, sternum strap removal
I am a big fan of JanSport backpacks and I have reviewed several of them here on Epinions. Recently, however, I had grown dissatisfied with the capacity of my Big Student and I felt an update was necessary. I looked around the internet for a versatile ...
Pros: LOTs of space; Durable material; Lifetime warranty. Cons: Pricetag is a bit high ($100+)
It's been almost 8 years since I've used a Jansport pack for my daily needs. After going thru a simply mediocre one that had limited space and didn't have strong zippers or any of the works which I need, I switched to an LL Bean Day Transit ...
Pros: excellent shoulder straps, frame sheet makes pack sit flat against back, hydration bladder for hiking Cons: inward-collapsing design, not as much/usable interior space as there should be
I bought this pack for its shoulder straps because the straps on my old pack would cut into my neck and shoulders when I was carrying a lot of books (I'm a college student). Its shoulder straps have been excellent and I still love them. I also bought the ...
Pros: Shoulder Straps,Aluminum Inner Frame,Size,6 Pockets,Design Cons: Not alot of color choices
I spent about a week researching different packs to get. I'm a college student and a full time worker, so on any day i can carry 4 folders and notebooks, 3 to 4 text books, a school planner, work planner, mp3 player, extra batteries, 32 oz bottle of tea, food, ti-84 calculator, and other little things here and there. The point is i couldn't fill this thing even if i tried. I'm not a big hiker, so fitting alot of equipment wasn't a priority to me, i just wanted a pack that could fit all my school things. The bag retails for $100-$120, but i was lucky and got it for $66.00 at my local Dick's Sporting Goods brand new. If your looking for a big bag for everyday use, this is it. Research it a bit to find the cheapest price!
Pockets, pockets, and more pockets! by sprucebruce ,Dec 04 '03
Pros: The most featureful Jansport day-pack; comfortable; durable; an organizing dream! Cons: Very pricey--would like a laptop shock pad sewn in for that price.
The Odyssey 23 is a great multi-purpose day pack for the compulsive organizer. The bag sports 6 zippered compartments:
1) A "v-loft" pouch with a port for headphones or a water tube
2) Main compartment (books)
3) Secondary compartment (laptop)
4) A "draw-bridge" compartment with pen slots, a cell phone slot, and 2 zippered mesh pockets.
5) A third, smaller compartment (shoes)
6) A fourth, smallest external pouch (workout shorts)
The compartments are large enough to carry a complement of school books, running shoes, a change of clothes, not to mention all my gadgets, pens, and cd-player. The hip belt tucks away unnoticeably, and the sternum straps are also removable. The external loops are just big enough to holster an umbrella, but I wish they were a big larger, though. The compression straps and "Air-lift" straps balance the pack excellently, even fully loaded.
I've used the bag for about a month now, and I love it. I can consolidate all my work, school, and sports bags into one!
