Good rice but very messy
by marypeggy ,Mar 28 '09
Pros: Makes good rice. Cons: Way too messy.
Water everywhere. The rice was good but not worth the clean up. This was the first rice cooker I tried and I wish I had done some research before buying. Haven't tried the steamer yet - but can only imagine that the vegetables would be coated with the sticky sludge that spews from the pot and spatters everything within range.

Great Rice Cooker
by vyepello ,Jul 25 '09
Pros: Easy to use and easy to clean it up. Cons: The recipes in the book are not that good.
Not sure why the previous poster had so myuch trouble. My first attempt to use this cooker was 100%! Loved it. I cooked 2 cups of brown jasmine rice in 5 cups of water and it came out perfect! Followed the directions and added the extra half cup water because it was brown rice. I heated up a can of seasoned tomatoes on the stove and dumped them in towards the end along with some herbs. What a brew and now I can add shrimp or whatever when I heat it up.

I can make better rice in a pot
by ceramika ,Nov 15 '09
Pros: It doesn't spill all over the stove. I'm not a happy camper at this point. Cons: Rice burns and sticks to bottom, uncooked; water on top.
I've made rice several times now with the cooker I bought two months ago. If I use about three times the water required, it may be okay, but it's unpredictable. I've never been able to follow the guidelines and get edible rice.
