Pros: It is small, light, and inexpensive for a laser fax. Cons: Jams all the time. Hard to clear jam; I damaged $100 drum doing it!
Remember the Yugo? For $4000 you could buy a car that seemed to be as capable as ones selling for two or three times the price. It was small and cute, too. But it was loaded with problems, needed lots of maintenance, failed in ways that no car should, ...
Pros: None Cons: Unreliable with unreliable service and repair.
I purchased a refurbished machine 2 months ago. Upon starting it, the machine grunted and said replace the drum and supplies. I returned it to the factory repair center. It was returned with a new drum which did the same thing. Two more times I sent this...
This fax machine will not handle over 2 or 3 pages at one time, after that, it jams every page, not a good thing for an office that receives 5-15 page faxes frequently.
Pros: It is priced right Cons: Feeds multiple pages and cannot send and receive faxes at same time.
This machine can not send and receive faxes at the same time. If you go to send a fax and the phone starts ringing for an incoming fax, the incoming fax will cancel out your outgoing fax. It grabs multiple pages, so if you have a multiple page fax, you have to feed it through one page at a time. Toner runs out quickly and is not cheap. Also drum needs to be replaced often and it not not cheap either.
Pros: Efficient and has lasted four years. Cons: The print roller has worn out and their not cheap.
We have a small business, about 5 to 10 faxes received per day and just about as many sent. We have had this fax machine for just over four years and I really don't recall having it ever jamb. The toner is just a little inconvenient to change but that is where thumbs come in handy. Programing is no more challenging than your average VCR. You just have to take a little time to read threw the instructions. About the only problem I've ever had is that after 4 years we have managed to wear out the print roller and they cost enough to make me consider getting another fax machine instead of replacing it.
A good, but not great, machine by bzzzzzzz ,Oct 06 '04
Pros: Large fax handling, finely programmable for single-line phone use. Cons: Complex programming, jamming after cartridge replacement.
Very versatile programming options, allowing customized functions over a multiple-use phone line. Very good memory and paper handling, up to a point. That point may be reached after the toner cartridge has been replaced, when the paper jamming problem (noted by others) has begun on my machine. Toner powder has a tendency to collect in pockets during changes, and may cause the toner cartridge to slightly misalign, resulting in jams. Or, could it have been an after-market replacement cartridge? Careful cleaning of the powder from the cartridge holder base corrected this problem.

About every other piece of paper jams, sometimes it is even cut in half! Even after cleaning all of the compartments & only putting one piece of paper in the loader it still jamms up.This machine has been exchanged 4 times, two replacement machines never worked. Would not recomend this machine to anyone.
What a certified P.O.S. A... by pry62_dt3000 ,Nov 11 '02
What a certified P.O.S. A pain to replace toner and drum. Paper jams about every two weeks. Have to clean burnt toner off the hot roller with alchohol to eliminate jams. Gets "Service Errors" about every two months which require you to enter an undocumented series of codes which completely reset machine. Then you have to reprogram everything. Customer support is worthless. DON'T BUY!!!
Have used for over a year as a basic fax/copier with no printing problems whatsoever. Have even copied paste ups without jamming. Changing the toner cart. is harder than it should be, and I have had no luck finding one at below retail $.
For the past 3 months, this machine has handled at least three fax's per day and has never caused us any problems what so ever. I feel it was a very good investment for us. It is very simple to operate and a lot cheaper than replacing the film in the older machine. The only improvement that I would like to see, would be an answering machine built into it. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a first rate laser machine.
