by dkozin dkozin is a Lead on Epinions in Electronics, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10, Jun 14 '05
Pros: Fast Leica monster zoom, picture quality, price, features, included accessories
Cons: LCD could be articulated and larger, could come in black color, no microphone
After using a 2-Megapixel P anasonic DMC-FZ1 (upgraded to FZ2 firmware) for a while, I decided that I need a camera with higher resolution. Since I have S D cards and ...

The DMC-FZ4 is a GREAT buy for the money.

by brownfan80 , Dec 01 '05
Pros: Battery life, Price, Zoom, Picture Quality
Cons: Low light quality, small lcd, silent movies.
I'll address general concerns from a general photography fan. I'm not super deep into the world of photography but i do enjoy to take pictures and do so a great deal. So for the more 'casual' enthusiast, here are the pros and cons of the FZ4: PROS: ...

Good but too many options

by gordon88 , Jun 23 '05
Pros: Extremely good Optics and very good image quality, good battery life
Cons: Cumbersome User interface, complicated options. No external power option, still no "Webcam" emulation
The best shooting mode for beginners is probably not the default "beginners" or "don't think" mode. It's probably rather an adaptation of the "Speed" priority mode even for beginners. (The S on the mode selector) This allow good indoor without always ...

Great Camera, Great Image Quality, Great Zoom
by jimt61201 ,Jan 19 '06
Pros: Ease of use, 12x zoom, great battery life
Cons: only available in silver
This camera is everything the advertisements say it is. The only thing I would recommend is that less experienced photographers should stick with the automatic scene modes or the picture modes. I use these modes for almost every shot I take and my pictures turn out clear and sharp. Also the battery lasts forever. I have been averaging about 300 shots between charging with the flash used on half the pictures or more. Overall great camera for the money and the 12x zoom is awesome.

Not the world's best but a Best Buy
by honest-ed ,Sep 06 '06
Pros: Lens, handling and speed. Quality of pictures, bargain price.Simplicity of controls & menus.
Cons: Small LCD fades in bright sunlight. Smallness makes some controls difficult to use.
This is probably the smallest SLR-style P&S on the market, and it gives you top-notch P&S performance, not SLR performance, which could cost thousands rather than the $300 or so this costs. The Leica-designed 35-420mm zoom lens is a gem and gives you the performance you want for sports, especially when combined with the burst feature. Its shot-to-shot speed is most useful not only for sports but any action shot, like trying to get pictures of hyperactive kids. I find most useful for me for nature shots, where that long lens really helps, and for just snapshooting at the beach, at parties, around the neighborhood, etc, where its size and handling stand out. But remember, it's a P&S and doesn't have the manual controls pros and advanced photographers usually want.
