Pros: Small, light, easy to use, good video quality, affordable, and a HUGE optical zoom. Cons: Low Light performance, average still photos, and a little weird "shifting" when fully zoomed in.
I decided to pick up a camcorder for an upcoming vacation, so I started doing some research. I read all of the reviews I could find, did side-by-side comparisons with the camcorders in my price range, and went to a local shop to check out a bunch of ...
Pros: A great zoom, small, weight, good capability - in sunlight only. Good sound. Cons: Forget about using the GS35 indoors/night: Grainy details & Washed out colours.
Picture Quality (...or lack thereof) As a former owner of a commendable Panasonic NVDS27 which was pilfered, I sought a replacement. Several reviews led me to believe that the GS35 was a good & relatively inexpensive camcorder. But, I really ...
Pros: Small and light, good stills, overall good performance. Cons: Lens cap instead of shutter, low light performance.
This is my first MiniDV camcorder. I purchased it just days before a vacation when it was decided that the old Hi8 camcorder was "too big". I was able to find only one review on this cam, but between that review and the manufacturer's specs I made the ...
Pros: Optical Zoom is great, Joystick menus are a plus. Cons: AC Power/Battery Charging poorly designed, still photos.
I bought the Panasonic GS35 mostly for its impressive optical zoom and relatively low price for the features. I have been generally pleased with ease of use, although I have only taken a few hours of video, mostly in outdoor conditions. The camera's ...
Good little camera for the money by hebber614ce ,Jun 23 '05
Pros: Light weight, small, portable, long battery life, and convenient charger included. Cons: Low light setting not great, a bit small for large hands.
My husband and I took this camera with us on our honeymoon to Hawaii this past February. We were really pleased to be able to bring back not only pictures but also a video of our sights and events for our family to see! The quality of the video is really very nice. The camera is light weight and small, but it still fits in your hand rather nicely. My husband has a harder time holding it because he has larger hands. The low light performance is really not terribly useful. You have to move much slower while using it. The full zoom is also a something that requires a more steady hand. Overall, however, he enjoyed using this camera to capture some really great memories. I was please with the quality of the still shots. Our digital camera is still much better, however, this served a purpose when we wanted to compare things but not print pictures. It is not a substitute for a digital camera by any means.
Pros: joystick controls, ease of use, blank tape search feature, lightweight Cons: Terrible video quality, especially indoors using available room lighting.
I purchased this camera through epinions from Crutchfield ($449). First of all, Crutchfield is a great company with outstanding reputation for shipping and returning. The camera is new from Panasonic. I'm no pro but tech savvy. Bought the camera for family video, vacations, kids, etc. Kid was an excellent try out because he doesn't stop talking and loves to run. Tried the camera indoors and the video was HORRIBLE. Upon using the external light, the camera ghosted my child and their looked as if there was a silouette behind him. Quality of video was grainy, both on the LCD and after transferring it to T.V. Tried camera the next day in daylight and still video quality was poor.
Features are cool, joystick and controls are easy to use and user friendly. Especially like the blank tape feature, which allows you to fast forward automatically to point on Mini DV tape that is blank.
Boxed it up, sent it back. Still searching for a decent camcorder.
labor warranty only 3 months by mixsal22 ,Mar 06 '06
Pros: Good recording in dim light Cons: Product quality
Overall fair but ours had a defect that manifested under certain conditions. However, the labor warranty expires after 3 months so they wanted $200 plus 2-way shipping to repair their defect! We barely had the thing out of the box at 3 months.
Pros: worked good for the first 4 hours. Cons: stopped working after 4 hours. panasonic service is 1500 miles away.
Purchased in May 2005, and stopped working recently after only 4 hours of use. Panasonic was no help. Told me to send it to the closest service center from Florida which is in Tennessee. It will cost 20.00 to ship it, 45.00 to look at it, and 25.00 to ship it back. And the estimate to repair it is 275.00, however the 45.00 will go towards the repair. I think I may take the money and buy a Sony. The ironic part is that I originally was given the Sony for a give, but exchanged it for this Panasonic. Never again!!!!
